Turkish Airlines to reduce Pristina operations

NEWS FLASH

Turkish Airlines has made revisions to its 2024 summer network, reducing frequencies on its Istanbul - Pristina service from fourteen weekly last summer to twelve weekly in 2024. The airline no longer plans to maintain its morning service on Wednesdays and its evening rotation on Saturdays, starting April 2024. Changes remain possible.

could be any reasons, fleet issues, overcapacity, low yield (they are sending Ajet from SAW)

Well, there are a couple of SKP experts here who seem to pick up fights with anyone. Just the other day they were battling with ZAG fanboys. Inferiority complex at its best.

The point is that we speak about reality not complex , I say that SKP will have very good start of the year with more then 300k pax which never happennd before in January especially , and PR is way down with this numbers for the same mounth , and people dont accept that reality , I hate that.

The point is that you seem to be uncapable of understanding the difference between seats on offer and actual number of passengers handled.

      Delete
    6. Anonymous14:01

They offer 329.000 and actual realisticly is 305.000 or 310.000 , and you want to say PR offer seats are 230.000 and actual will be 330.000 in January , thats funny and stupid. If it was summer yes but now not buddy

2 weekly flights is nothing for PRN. It will still take the lead in 2024 and especially the gap with SKP is getting wider and wider:

    PRN: 2,928,577
    SKP: 2,407,927

    https://www.exyuaviation.com/2023/11/former-yugoslav-airports-handle-289.html

The difference is already half a million, when they used to have the same traffic. It is possible the gap widens to a difference of 1 million by 2026.

Yes and we see on one day ago article how SKP will start the year and how PR ;)

SKP is starting the year with more then 300k pax in January , PR has the same numbers of pax in August.

    3. Anonymous12:28

How do you know from now that SKP is starting with 300k pax when even this month hasn't yet finished? Crystal ball?

    4. Anonymous12:29

Why are you opsessed with SKP? Why don't you compare with LJU, Sarajevo etc? . The difference will be even wider, and you will be so much happier.

    5. Anonymous12:29

Hahaha, the experts from SKP can even see the future, didn't you know?

@12.15 Last year the gap was 850k so it looks like they have almost halved it. You must be such a genius

Skopje Airport boasts 329.390 seats in January, up 69.1% on the previous year and an improvement of 73.4% on 2019. Wizz Air will hold a 66% share of available seats at the airport.
Nobody sees the future , we see the reality

Without charters, which make up a big amount of PRN operations. But nice try SKP expert 👍

    11. Anonymous12:44

Ok , you want to say that with chartes PR will reach SKP with 329.000 pax ? Are you kidding me , charters could be max 20.000-30.000 pax and thats all buddy . I speak and see the reality how both airports will start the year.

    16. Anonymous17:28

You still didn't comment about the half a million gap difference between PRN and SKP and also not shared how you knew it would be 69% in January. What if there is a big fog,a hurricane erruption or anything preventing planes operating? You may say it is "expected" to reach xxx numbers but not it will. Anyway, good luck for SKP with its second busiest airport in ex-YU goal...

Ajet (aka Anadolujet) has been flying SAW-PRN since the summer of 2021! So this has nothing to do with them

Ajet doesnt have nothing with this reducing , its just TK doesnt see potentital so its cutting the network for 2 less flights , thats it.

    3. Anonymous12:34

Ajet is sent to compete against Pegasus. Its not a secret that flag carrier have yield issues in PRN (see LOT or BA)

When will you realize that not everything is about pax numbers! PRN has flights to 26 destinations in 12 countries while SKP has flights to 43 airports in in 23 countries. So what if more people fly from it if you can only go to villages and Zurich!

    1. Anonymous13:55

Yes, fly from SKP to German villages instead of Zurich 🤣

    2. Anonymous14:00

True Skoplje only flies to german villages and some other 22 countries

    3. Anonymous19:06

13:55, well SKP also proudly has year-round flights to Friedrichshafen only compared to Lufthansa! :D
That being said, there obviously is less demand to Istanbul from PRN and more on Europe. PRN is following TGD and TIV examples of introducing more European routes. Time till tell if TK would once again increase their presence in PRN.

    4. Anonymous19:58

LOL following TGD and TIV examples. As if there is a any other market than West Europe for PRN. Comedy

Guys, not sure why everyone is arguing here. All of our airports are very minor, success for one is success for all, no one really cares about all these airports, I was recently on a trip to Asia (Vietnam), transited through Doha and visited Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, these are all mega cities with huge airports, even Sofia, from where I boarded the Qatari plane has decent network. All of the ex-yu minus Belgrade (and even Belgrade is not that big in frequencies) is very very much behind the real airport business and its more of a feeder airport, and not much more...
For example Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi has over 90 daily flights.
