Ljubljana launches AI tool to improve turnaround performance

Ljubljana Airport launched Assiaia’s Apron AI turnaround management solution last week in a bid to optimise aircraft turnaround times. The system leverages artificial intelligence and shared data collaboration to take ground handling to the next level. It will gather objective data from every ground handling process, identifying bottlenecks, process dependencies, and discrepancies between planned and actual times. The ultimate goal is to streamline all ground handling processes and enhance Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) through high-quality operational data available on a 24/7 basis. Ultimately, these enhancements will contribute to an improved passenger experience. “We are now very curious to get to know the system and experience how it will help optimise operations – not only in Ljubljana but possibly in the future also at our other Fraport airports”, the airport noted.

    Well probably this airport is probably by size best option for fraport to test new gadgets. Not too small but not too big (if something goes wrong they dont do too much damage)

      well lets be honest, this is how business works ... u will never implement something new if you are not sure ... so you will implement it where the risk is as small as possible. and yes, airport is private business so they don't care about who is flying and where as long as they have P&L as planned.

      Yes, it is depressing to watch the decline of aviation sector in Slovenia. With main airport sold and then being indirectly subsidised in order to have some wider connectivity with other than few big cities. Using ai supported tools to cope with empty apron is a joke Ms. Stapel, like it or not.
