NEWS FLASH

Mostar Airport is undergoing a comprehensive makeover, starting with a rejuvenation of its exterior façade (pictured). Following this aesthetic transformation, the airport is set to embark on a more significant interior upgrade. “The primary objective of this project is to establish a contemporary and appealing environment, with a particular focus on enhancing the overall passenger experience. The modernisation efforts will encompass spatial modifications, technological advancements, and aesthetic innovations”, Mostar Airport said. A number of new routes will be launched out of Mostar Airport this year including Rome, Munich, Bari, and Verona by Sky Alps, as well as Belgrade by Air Serbia.

Courtesy of Andrej Plenković. Still, I agree with whatever policy and funding it takes to keep those fake Croats away from my beloved Domovina.

Could someone organize a study trip to Mostar for Banja Luka airport management and RS Government representatives, to see how it is properly done (they could also learn on how to improve the relations with Air Serbia)? In the meantime, when it comes to the airport infrastructure, Tuzla, Morava or Niš (all with lower passenger number in comparison to BNX) would serve the purpose as a role model for Banja Luka.

Conversely, could someone organize a study trip to Banja Luka for Mostar airport management to see how Banja Luka has properly grown passenger traffic to almost half a million passengers per year, using LCC airlines? Mostar can learn a lot from Banja Luka in that respect.

When did Tuzla have lower passenger numbers then Banja Luka? During the last 10 years, I don't recall this happening.

Banjaluka does not have such a complicated ownership structure so it's easy to make deals with LCCs at a significant loss knowing one man will cover it all. Mostar is more about ROI. It's good to grow traffic, but not at any cost.

This looks like utility building near 20-30 story overpriced development, not like something with humans inside.

Don't know about this (maybe some windows would be nice, but I guess I'm too old fashioned), but I was at INI recently and the new terminal looks stunning. What's even better is that the old one will be demolished and upgraded to match the new one. A story, or a construction update, on this would be nice, Ex-Yu 😉

This is soutwestern facing side of the building and Mostar has 2400+ sun hours per year. You can se those screens are perforated to filter sun through. This facade in addition to beeing aesthetic it is also energy efficieny solution to downsize air conditiong usage.

Coloured in black and exposed to direct sun for 7-8 hours per day can hardly be an energy efficient solution to save on air conditioning. People will get burns if they lean on those sheets of metar in the summer.
