Tunisia’s Nouvelair to boost operations across region

Tunisian carrier Nouvelair plans to increase its number of flights to former Yugoslav markets and grow capacity by 22.5% this summer season compared to last year. Despite the airline being a network carrier, its services to Banja Luka, Belgrade, Ljubljana, Sarajevo and Skopje are all operated as regular charters, meaning they have a predefined schedule and run throughout the summer season but tickets are sold exclusively through tour operators or as part of tour packages. This summer, the airline will offer a maximum capacity of 22.655 seats for its Belgrade flights, 6.549 for Ljubljana, 6.195 for Skopje, 5.664 for Banja Luka, and 4.248 seats on its Sarajevo service. Capacity will increase on all routes and reman almost the same on its Ljubljana operations.

The carrier plans to commence flights between Monastir and Belgrade this summer on May 22 and will operate six weekly flights between the two cities in June, July, August and September, as well as three weekly rotations in October. In addition, it will run a one weekly service between the island of Djerba and the Serbian capital in June and September. In Ljubljana, Nouvelair plans to commence operations from Monastir on May 1 and run a weekly service until October 23. Furthermore, it will operate a one weekly service from Djerba to the Slovenian capital in July and August. The airline returns to Banja Luka on June 5 with a one weekly flight from Monastir, increasing to two weekly in July, August and September.

The airline plans to run two weekly flights between Monastir and Skopje from June 3 until September 30, while Sarajevo will see a weekly service from the Tunisian coastal city from May 13 until October 21, extending operations by over two months compared to last year. Despite operating a weekly service between Monastir and Zagreb last year, from June until late September, the flights have not been added into the system for this year so far, although changes remain possible as flights are negotiated with tour operators. All services will be maintained by one of the carrier’s eleven 177-seat Airbus A320 aircraft.

      I flew many times from Dublin to Monastir. Then Endfidha airport took over most flights and it changed to Tunisair. Once i flew from Belfast and Nouvelair didnt serve alcohol on the flight but apart from that they were ok😃

    Seems like they are the only airline flying between the region and Tunisia this summer

      Tunisair also has charter flights at least to Ljubljana. Well I don’t know for this year but they have flown to Lju from Tunisia for the past few summer seasons

      @09:15 air Serbia doesn’t fly to Tunis at all, much less daily. They have season charter to monastir

      OK, they may not be daily, but the flights certainly exceed 7 a week. They are not every day, but they are more than 7.

      ....737-800 flew these routes, summer there were three on some day of the week.

      @09:02 Tunisair will also have one weekly charter service from Tunis to Skopje with A320neo. Additionaly, BH Air will fly from Skopje to Djerba and Enfidha this summer.

      Can you point out to me which agency is selling holidays with arrival in Tunis as I can't find a single one. All are with Nouvelair or BH.

      I also don't think the Tunisair charters are happening (unless they changed the destination). Like @19.40 mentioned, the Tunisair Skopje flights were supposed to operate to/from Tunis. There is not a single travel agency selling any package with arrival or departure from Tunis. All are from Monastir and some from Djerba.

      How it was back then?
      Last year there were many even daily charters to Tunisia from BEG, and this year 6 weekly Nouvelair, plus Tunisair and Air Serbia's charters, that sounds fairly popular to me. (I was young back than so I don't know how it used to be)

      @9.21
      People discovered alternative markets. Spain is extremely popular now. Tunisia is nice but has draw backs. Generally the level of service and hotel quality had gone down hill since the revolution. Plus there is an increasing problem of jelly fish in the sea in summer which really sting bad.

      They just sell all the seats to tour operators. Easiest way to make money. You get the same amount of money regardless if the plane is full or empty. All risk is on the tour operator.

    Pity there aren't any scheduled flights between any ex-Yu country and Tunisia. There were year round Tunisair flights from Tunis to Belgrade until Covid started and then they just never came back.
