Air Serbia seeks company mascot

NEWS FLASH

Air Serbia has launched a public call for the name and design of its future mascot. The competition is open until May 27 for Serbian citizens only. The winner will be selected by a professional jury, comprised of members from the company’s executive, commercial, corporate, and marketing management teams and rewarded with a seven-night trip for four. Furthermore, the winning design will be used as the official company mascot. Prizes will also be awarded to the second and third placed entries. Boško Rupić, the airline’s General Manager for Commercial and Strategy, said, “A mascot is an integral part of the identity of many companies. It boosts morale and symbolises connectivity and friendship. We believe in the creativity and talent of our citizens, and that's why we invite them to participate in the contest and help us choose a mascot that will represent us worldwide”. Several airlines around the world feature their own mascot, with one of the most well-known currently being Air India’s Maharaja.

Why Serbia should follow EU companies. Why not being unique, look out of box picture. Get a mascot, 100% agree

Should be a turtle as it symbolizes slow motion i.e. constant flight delays.

Another troll. Majority of flights are within 15 min.

Too many are not, hence the comment. The complaint and luggage lost response time are both in favor of the turtle.

@16:22 just check out Beg site ( flight departures/ arrivals) both yesterday and today you have way too many flights that are late. 30-40-60 min is not acceptable!

      "30-40-60 min is not acceptable!"

That means a delay of 20-40 mins on arrival. More than acceptable.

I flew JU 3 times I'm the last 4 weeks. And all on time and all 3 excellent service. People on here have no clue what they are talking about. As most airlines in Ezu are aweful. I give JU 4* rating for my latest experience.

They don't need a mascot, they need additional capacity ASAP. Their flights are full and their pricing is slowly getting out of control. They are charging a premium for a very average product.

Yesterday I picked up a friend who arrived from ORD. Pupin was fully booked and he said the experience was very bad. IFE was not working and the seat was not in the best condition.

Today I booked my flight to LCA with Austrian Airlines while a client of ours is going to Amsterdam on Austrian Airlines and coming back with Lufthansa. All because JU butchered their network while demand remained strong. Both tickets to AMS and LCA would be close over 60.000 RSD. LCA was over 70.000 with no luggage. Not only that, you end up flying on that leased Lithuanian junk. Meanwhile Lufthansa charged roughly €350 per ticket (AMS included luggage).

A family member flew to India with LH a few days ago. When we bought her flight, the segment to FRA was scheduled to be operated with an A319. In the end she departed on a full A321.

Air Serbia had to secure additional capacity no matter what the cost. Like this their competition is profiting and they are further consolidating their position in BEG.

But sure, let's come up with a totally useless mascot. Село гори а баба се чешља.

Yet no one is challenging JU at Belgrade, almost no new routes this season, the frequencies slightly higher than last summer... Obviously the capacity is the problem for many airlines. Additionally, Vinci doesn't care about this issue.

Do remember that BEG increased its fees from JAN 1.

    3. Nemjee19:06

Lufthansa Group is reacting by increasing capacity to Belgrade, that's something at least. My flight to VIE was supposed to be an E95 while I just noticed that it will be actually A320.
MUC was supposed to get the E95 this summer while almost all flights have been upgraded to A320.

Seems like they are the most flexible at the moment. Serbia's economy is doing well so this demand will only keep on growing. Hopefully JU manages to secure both planes and pilots to keep on growing.

Yes, they increased fees and that's pretty much all the job they have done when it comes to aviation. The other job was shopping mall operations: hike the parking fees, introduce new stores etc. Vinci is shopping mall management outsourcing company.

You complain about „Lithuanian junk“, but ask for more capacity. For me the Lithuanian company is totally fine with very pleasant crew.

I believe Sarajevo winter Olympics Vučko deserves to be revived here, with an obvious choice for facial rebranding. If they want a slogan to accompany Vucko, it’d be something like “You almighty Lords have a force and power, while WE have our heart and the president “Vucic”!!!” #irony

Hahahah you can look with your pink glass as much as u want, but everyone knows that AS treats their employees wary bad - they constantly hire new crew and fire experienced ones (or they go to other companies)

Other airlines that grow by 25% or more each year are not constantly getting new crew? No other airline ever fire an employee, no crew ever leaves other airlines? Are you okay?

      Delete
    4. Anonymous10:52

Air Serbia did not grow even close to 25% compared to last year but hired more than 100 new cabin crew and fired experienced ones. Their cabin crew have barely 30 to 40 flying hours per month causing them to receive miserable salaries. In what Serbia you live I really don't know... Wish you luck on mascot choice...

Usually you need to pay proper designers to create a mascot, and not „save“ by creating a contest in which someone‘s creative idea will not be adequately paid.
