NEWS FLASH

Wizz Air plans to double its number of weekly flights between London Luton and Sarajevo durng the 2024/25 winter season. The low cost carrier will introduce an additional two weekly flights, for a total of four, starting October 27. It represents an increase on both this summer’s and the previous winter’s two weekly operations between the two cities. Wizz Air faces increased indirect competition on the route, with Ryanair recently commencing services between London Stansted and Bosna and Herzegovina’s capital. Wizz Air handled 9.021 passengers on its London – Sarajevo service during the first quarter of the year, up 9.1% on Q1 2023.

I'm just wondering why they don't make Abu Dhabi flights year-round. Is it possible it's because of GTF engine issues?

It's not possible because the majority of the Wizz Air AUH fleet are A321ceo.

It is possible because they cant base more ceos there as the neos need to go to maintenance.

Sure. So they only operate it in summer when they have more routes and frequencies and need more planes, makes perfect sense.

It will be good to have competition. It will stop Ryanair's rip off fares that they charge when there is no competition.

The only needed London route in SJJ is a route to Heathrow with British Airways, because it would be useful both for people from UK and for transfers.

Not true. Plane is full of tourists doing point to point attracted by low fares (small amount of Bosnian diaspora). You can do connections via existing Lufthansa Group flights.
