NEWS FLASH

Passenger numbers on flights between Belgrade and the Cypriot city of Larnaca have continued to grow into 2024 following last year’s record levels. During the first half of this year, a total of 75.338 passengers flew between the two cities on Air Serbia and Wizz Air flights, with the figure growing 3% on 2023, despite a 22% reduction in the number of operated flights by the low cost carrier due to ongoing engine troubles requiring inspections, which reduced capacity on the route by 36.9%. Overall, across the two airlines, the average cabin load factor on the route for the first six months of the year stood at 82.5%.

Cyprus Airways is not likely to enter the market. If we once get Ryanair in Belgrade they will, for sure, fly to Paphos.

We just need both JU and W6 to add more flights.

I am pretty sure JU will add more flights next season, probably 16-18 flights per week. Wizz Air should also add more flights next summer, at least 7 flights per week.

Wizz Air is in October increasing LCA to 6pw with two flights on Sundays.

We do not need any more W6 flights. For JU, sure, but I want to see more legacy carriers (Cyprus Airways for example). W6 is completely unnecessary and has ruined air travel

Wizz keeps prices sky high. I mean its obvious as need is high hence the high price.. but as above mentioned it would be marvelous to have CY airwaysb:)

Why more flight? They have less flights but higher loads now. Meaning they were wasting flights with more empty planes

Yes, you are right, they need less flights because then they could charge even more than they do right now. We need planes to be even more full and for prices to be higher.

As for JU, unlike the previous years, this year they operated LCA almost exclusively using the A320. That somewhat helped but it was still not enough.

Ryanair is not coming to BEG. They cannot afford it. Their business model does not work that way.

Cyprus is an awesome beach destination, I expect to see it become even more popular as more people discover it.
