Exactly just like it's crazy how they are trying to become a relevant aviation business without a competitive corporate and loyalty program. Marek announced it months ago. I guess nothing will become of it. Their current corporate program is archaic and useless, they make you book tickets via their call center (just one of many stupid examples).

You could have bothered to read the article. It is not available at all airports and that is usually because there is some issue with the airport. For example, OU does not offer online checkin for several destinations either.

No, I am telling you that there is an issue between the airport operator and the airline that is preventing online check in to be implemented. As you can see, none of the airports in Spain they fly to has online checkin available. Just to note, online checkin is available from Belgrade to all destinations, except JFK and ORD. But it is different for the inbound service airport.

Online checkin is available from Belgrade to all destinations. The article clearly mentions this is from the European airports to BEG.

Could be that in Spain they have some problem with AENA!
Anyway, for those complaining on everything, a month ago I flew from Brussels to Istanbul by Ajel (low cost) and they had no online check in. It took me more than 1h to complete it. After I've checked, and Ajet had online check in only in Turkey I'm that moment, and I've seen noone complaining about it.

Plus I am sure people are complaining about it on Turkish forums. Furthermore, they have been flying to BCN for years now. It's a major market for them. It's bad enough they are using the crapier terminal there, they don't need to force people to check-in at the airport.

When will they add all other destination? Not a single Spanish destination has online check in. Absolutely crazy. And both Lisbon and Porto have it, even though they were added later. Is it a problem with jurisdictions?

You can check in from BEG to all destinations. Obviously it is an issue on outbound flights due to some regulations.

Thank you for your reply. I am, of course, aware that it is possible to check in on flights from BEG. "Obviously" is not an argument. What I am saying is that for years JU has this issue and they are not saying why. This in turn creates various speculations and dissatisfaction with the passengers. There are many "obvious" explanations, but they would probably put people at ease if they just said something along the lines "we are working on it, we have such and such issues, but hope to resolve it soon" or whatever. I fly frequently from Spain and it is a huge pain to need to come an hour earlier and stay in a long line for some 30-60 minutes, even though I don't have a check-in baggage. I hope this clears it up a bit.

Where is Ljubljana!?!? Every single serious airline from Ljubljana has online check-in, for JU you still need to go to the check-in line even if you’re always traveling with hand baggage only!

In LJU there is still not possible to check to the final destination just with ID, only with a passport, even for the destinations where passport is not needed, e.d. all EU destinations and Balkans.

@Anon 16:59 Don’t get it. You either check-in online or, if unavailable (like Air Serbia) have to do it at the airport. Border control is another thing, that’s after security for non-Schengen flights. Never had an issue traveling with Slovenian ID to Serbia, although I always carry passport with me as well.

My comment was not about online check in, sorry for misunderstanding. I was talking about check in to final destination transferring via BEG with JU. With an ID you can check in only to BEG, to final destination only with a passport, independently what is a valid document to enter a country of a final destination.

They could add it have they wanted to really. That goes both for online checkin and ID through check (although it makes me very happy when greeks and italians with their ancient paper id-s get checked only to BEG 😂)

Online check-in has been available for these airports for quite some time now. I fly to/from Heraklion in mid-August and was able to check in online both ways. It was a breeze!
In 2024, I think it’s a prerogative to offer online check-in for all destinations.

Why was it annouced in September? Many of those destinations are seasonal. If passengers were not informed online checkin was possible weeks ago, it is sensible to assume uninformed passengers checked in at the airport. That kind of Air Serbia ****obolja towards their own customers always fascinated me. Not in a good way.

JU needs to improve their overall web experience. With such a great and eager batch of students at ETF in Belgrade, they should coordinate with the faculty in putting together a joint project for a improved app for mobile check in, boarding passes etc. Students would get great practical experience that they could put on their resume and JU gets an improved app.

Air Serbia "online" check in is a joke because it ends up by gate clerks screeming your name from the gate over PA. Why? "To check your passsport". So you check in online in order to be checked in literrally at the gate. Rediciolous. As well Air Serbia's app is a thing belonging to early 21st century. Just go and check any flag carrier app and you'll know what I am talking about.
