Admij is it true that current scheduled ops from LJU this winter are DOWN compared to 2023?

Yes, scheduled seat capacity is currently down each month year-on-year from November 2024 until the end of the winter season in late March. Of course, this is subject to change.

There will be an article when airlines finalise their schedules in a few weeks but the decline varies month by month from 7.1% in November to 1.8% in January, which is the smallest rate of decline over the winter. In general it hovers between 4%-8% at the moment.

I still think that the demand for certain destinations is still high enough. London for example. Last November, approx. 9,100 passengers were transported on the LJU - LON - LJU route. This year, however, there are only about 4,000 available seats for November. EsyJet approx. 3 - 4 times a week. British canceled flights for the winter. In my opinion, there are no real reasons for canceling flights

      "Fly from your home airprot"
Had booked a LJU-CDG-HAV flight yesterday (departing at 6:40 from LJU), the morning flight got canceled and I had to fly from Venice.
And before you say, you are the only one, about 30 of us who were flying from Venice, were originally booked from Ljubljana, but had to be moved, as we wouldn't make the connections in CDG with pm flight from Ljubljana

Slovenia really needs SkyAlps or Universial Air to base one or two Dashes there. If Mostar or even freaking Pecs can manage to get them, no idea how Ljubljana can't. Heck in this market Maribor should have flights, and we are arguing about if 4 weekly flights to London is enough for the richest nation in Ex-Yu...how the mighty have fallen

I have recently met a Slovenian guy in Cyprus who told me "we have Adria and they fly just to Brussels and some other dumb destinations". He actually had no clue that their flag carrier shut down. He said that he does all of his flying via ZAG or VIE, and can't recall the last time he flew from LJU

I know about a few like the guy you described myself, it's mostly the C levels who don't book their own flights, and just get to the airport they were told.

tbh slovenians got so used of flying from other airports that they dont even check LJ airport as an option anymore. i was flying to CPH last weekend and all my friends asked me if i was flying from Venice or Zagreb. when i said i flew from Ljubljana for 90€ there and back they were shocked. so LJ airport should do a lot more on marketing side to promote that you can also fly cheap from ljubljana.
