NEWS FLASH
Tivat Airport welcomed its millionth traveller of the year last Friday, October 4, marking the first time it has achieved the milestone in a single year since 2019. The millionth passenger was registered on an easyJet flight from the coastal city to London Luton. Apart from the coronavirus pandemic, Tivat Airport has been severely impacted by the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Previously, Russia was Tivat’s biggest market, with both Ukraine and Belarus also contributing a sizeable number of passengers. In 2019, a total of 631.561 travellers flew between Moscow and Tivat alone. The airport also boasted services from a number of other Russian cities, including Saint Petersburg, which accounted for 62.147 travellers. During the January - August period, Tivat Airport welcomed 827.642 passengers, representing an increase of 31.9% on last year. However, the figure is still down 17.8% on the pre-pandemic 2019. During the eight-month period, Air Serbia was the airport’s largest carrier by available seat capacity, followed by easyJet, Air Montenegro, Turkish Airlines and Jet2.com.
What were the frequencies back in 2019 between TIV and Russian cities?
ReplyDeleteDuring peak season in August 2019 there were 89 weekly scheduled flights from Russia to Tivat. Of those, 46 weekly were to Moscow Domodedovo, 16 weekly to Moscow Vnukovo and 14 weekly to Moscow Sheremetyevo. The remaining flights were to Saint Petersburg and Samara.
DeleteNice to hear about this growth. Growing up in the 80s I could not have imagined.
ReplyDeleteMontenegro keeps winning!
ReplyDeleteHow on Earth, when it is down 18% compared to 2019?!
Deletewe all love and chear for TIV and TGD, but be realistic..
and when will lights come?
ReplyDeleteBlimey, I've been through that airport and It really needs modernization.
ReplyDeleteT2 is tiny and queuing out the door is the norm. It has great potential and would like to see improved cafes and opening of duty free (closed at moment )
Delighted being part of this million users of Tivat as we visited Kotor and Tivat last week. The cafe at T1 with large out seating arrangements need mgmt attention. For 1 cappuccino served in 1/2 size of a standard coffee cup and 2 croissant, we were charged 17 Euro!, exorbitantly high. When I walking to cafe counter to make order, a waiter stopped me saying “what do I need? You seat outside, I am getting your order.” When asked for bill, he told me 17 Euro and also directed me to a menu in his hand. When I said, it’s too high for 1 small coffee and 2 croissant. He said, “It’s your problem.” OMG, so rude!
