Ryanair has scheduled a new seasonal service between Zadar and Rome Fiumicino Airport which will launch on May 3. Flights will initially operate twice per week, before increasing to three weekly in June. The airline last maintained services between the two cities in August 2023. Further flight details can be found here. Rome becomes Ryanair's 52nd destination out of Zadar. As exclusively reported by EX-YU Aviation News last month, the budget carrier will also introduce operations between Zagreb and Palermo with tickets officially going on sale yesterday. Good. Italian tourist numbers have been declining in Croatia past years. So any flight is more than welcome

That's because Italian incomes are not growing and Croatia is getting more expensive. The trend will not reverse. Germans, Austrians, Brits, Americans, Chinese and Koreans will always be able to outspend the Italians. Ever since 2008.

Croatia is so expensive now it will be interesting to see how many repeat bookings they get.

Was going to Italy this summer with car coming from Montenegro. 2 burgers with salad, one plate of spaghetti with the fake BS maggi powder, water and maybe 2 juices for my son = 50 euro. At a very modest diner on the side of the road. With these prices, you can say bye bye to germans and brits soon too

And yet both the Germans and the Brits are coming in record numbers year after year.

15,5 billion euros they left, and 16 projected for 2025, begs to differ.

15 billion for the amount of tourist is pretty low. Australia for example has officially less tourist per year compared to Croatia but 50 billion is generated in Australia from tourism. Just goes to show how much Croatia can improve on what they offer tourist.

Ryan Air continues to prove that Croatia Airlines has no excuse on how bad they have mismanaged the airline for years. OU should have been an airline with a growth focus and could have been triple the size of what it is today.
