NEWS FLASH

Croatia Airlines’ newly delivered Airbus A220-300 aircraft, registered 9A-CAI, the second of the same type in its fleet, entered into commercial service last Friday. The aircraft’s inaugural revenue flight was between Zagreb and Copenhagen, with the carrier operating the outbound leg in an all-economy-class layout with just one unoccupied seat, while the return service had seven unoccupied seats in economy and nine unoccupied seats out of the twelve on sale in business class. The airline will take delivery of another six A220s next year.

For those routes the aircraft is perfect. My worry is that they'll lose imense amounts of money on the wet-leases for non profitable routes. Or even worse scenario, sending a 110seater to a route that could be operated by a 45seater.

I wonder what the profit margins of the full flight are compared to the A319.
I bet it's big, but does it cover the massive lease costs?

It doesn't. The A319 were free because Croatia Airlines owned them.

1305, tru dat! Still, the comment is very illustrative, coming from those who don't have basic knowledge about a company they are so eager to spit fire on.

Did they move the entry ahead admin? Wasn't it reported that the 3rd of January would be entry into service? Looks like that the only one frame is operating, so whenever the 1st isn't flying, the 2nd is

In holiday period it would be catastrophic if it wasn't. Unfortunately this year OU has the lowest load factor in decades (if we exclude 2020 and 2021).

Hopefully no engine isues like other A220s. Last week Swiss A220-300 HB-JCD suffered engine oil leak causing smoke in the cabin. One person has now died as a result.
