NEWS FLASH
Air Serbia’s management has held talks with representatives of the Guangzhou municipal government, the city’s Vice Mayor, as well as airport officials to discuss the future development of the carrier’s service between Belgrade and the Chinese city, which was launched last September. “Both sides focused on promoting inbound tourism and exploring opportunities to establish Guangzhou as a key hub for South East Asia and Australia. This collaboration marks an exciting step forward in fostering stronger economic and cultural ties between Serbia and China, while enhancing connectivity for travellers across these regions”, Air Serbia said. It comes just days after the Serbian carrier inked a codeshare agreement with China Southern Airlines on the route, with both maintaining two weekly flights between the two cities. Guangzhou Airport was the seventh busiest in the world by passenger numbers in 2024.
Let's see if they add flights next year. That's the only important thing.
ReplyDeleteIt's possible they could add flights even this year.
DeleteMarek knows what he is doing!
DeleteIs that why his deals with TK and QR are such a success?
DeleteCompared to both other flag carriers in the exyu region, Air Serbia is far ahead with interlines and codeshares.
DeleteYeah... no one cares about those two, they are not in JU's league. We all know that and it's time you know it too.
DeleteBetter add PVG flights and start 2 pw PEK. With 4 pw CAN, I think market is well saturated
DeleteAt least have another weekly flight to improve connecitivity. With 5 weekly flights they can be very competitive.
DeleteDisagree with you @18.06. The southernmost position of chinese big 3 cities enables transfers for huge numbers of ethnic traffic between Australia and ex-yu, Australian tourists to Croatia (why not offering them couple of days BEG stopover in addition to competitive price), and business and tourism from chinese side, from Canton aerea which is huge. All of these could potentially make Guangzhou more successful than the other two. For now, potentially, and to be seen if materializes
DeletePeople keep forgeting that a lot of people from Balkan, especially Serbia, go to southeast Asia during winter and spring months..Not just Australia, and Chinese tourist are the ones who benefit this route, but Serbian tourist equally...Guangshou is perfect hub for entire South-east region of Asia, Air Serbia should attract them with good offers, and now it has code share...Half of the seats in aircrafts of Turkish, Qatar and Fly Dubai are occupied by tourists from Balkans heading towards SE Asia.. Air Serbia has a chance to take them over
Delete1. Discuss codeshare with China Eastern as well and add third weekly flight.
ReplyDelete2. Start Beijing and sign codeshare with Hainan and expand one with Air China.
3. If Guangzhou route is good add third weekly flight.
Like in old JAT days, add BKK or HKT, as next stop before return. You will have business travelers to CAN and leisure ones to Thailand, and direct connection to BEG
ReplyDeleteLong haul is nowadays not done this way. Today's planes have much bigger range and burn less fuel so direct flights took over.
DeleteIf a hopping flight is still a thing JU shall rather fly SYD with a stopover on Vinci's new mega airport in Cambodia to cover Indochina. This new airport will open up in July. But again flights like this are thing of the past.
You mean one that is already open in siem reap that is 50km from down town and more closed go agknor wat?? Its already open and still perform poorly. Big mistake like sri lanka port that chinese made.
DeleteSalut from south east asia!!!
Does AirSerbia operate any planes with Pratt Whitney engines PW1000G? Will they face delays due to this?
