NEWS FLASH

Slovenian-registered cargo carrier and maintenance provider Solinair has begun construction of a new hangar at Ljubljana Airport (pictured), designed to significantly boost its aircraft maintenance capacity. The development will enable the company to extend its base maintenance services beyond regional aircraft to include narrow-bodies. With the addition of new technology and increased operational space, Solinair will be able to service a broader range of aircraft, including the Airbus A220 and Embraer E190-E2, upon the hangar’s completion. “The development of this new hangar has been a vision years in the making and represents an evolution in Solinair’s philosophy, rather than a revolution. This state-of-the-art facility will be instrumental in strengthening Solinair’s capacity to provide world-class aircraft maintenance services to both our current and future customers”, the company said. Construction of the new facility is expected to be completed during the first quarter of next year.

Pity their plans to become Slovenia's new national airline never materialized.

Agreed. Sad that the ship had already sailed, unless if the government changes and decides to refloat it
