NEWS FLASH

Transavia introduced flights between Amsterdam and Skopje yesterday, linking the two cities with a scheduled air service for the first time in twelve years. The Air France-KLM subsidiary will maintain two weekly flights between the two cities. The airline will initially operate the service with the 189-seat Boeing 737-800 aircraft, however, from April onwards it will increase capacity on the route to the 232-seat Airbus A321neo aircraft for the remainder of the summer.

Commenting on the new route, the CEO of Transavia, Marcel de Nooijer, said, “With the addition of Skopje to our network, we are offering our passengers more travel opportunities across Europe. Whether it's to explore a new city or for business purposes, Skopje is sure to impress. The city is a unique destination that takes your breath away, set in a picturesque country. We are very proud to serve this route”. The General Manager of airport operator TAV Macedonia, Nejat Kurt, added, “Today marks a significant milestone for TAV Macedonia, a subsidiary of TAV Airports a member of Groupe ADP. This new route is not just about expanding our network, it is about expanding possibilities for Macedonian citizens. With Amsterdam being one of the most vibrant destinations in Europe, this flight will not only bring people closer to world-class historical attractions and collections of great art, but it will also allow tourists to experience its picturesque landscapes”.

It is a part of KLM/AF group and a Flying Blue member- meaning you can use the benefits of KLM/AF

You cannot use any Flying Blue benefits on Transavia. All you can do is collect miles & XP (at very low rates).

Skopje is a bastion of Star Alliance, it is a bastion of Wizz Air. And Transavia is not even in SkyTeam

Great news they’re increasing capacity. Btw. Is there a possibility for connections through Amsterdam when flying with Transavia?

I don't actually see the KLM website offering any connections with a feeder flight on Transavia, would you mind posting some examples?

Yes, and I'm asking you for an example routing of a connection to KLM's network from Amsterdam. Unless you meant self-connection on two separate tickets, which is extremely risky and doesn't really qualify.

As I see there is no connection flights with KLM , its only the network that is served from Transavia. But you can still do separate tickets with good connection time and its also cheaper option , saying from my experience :))

It would be nice to see them seasonally operate Amsterdam-Ohrid flights during the peak summer months, once Skopje becomes a success.
