Ryanair has once again called upon the government of Bosnia and Herzegovina to repeal the 1.5-euro passenger departure tax at the country’s airports, which was reintroduced last week after a year. It comes after Ryanair launched five new routes from Bosnia and Herzegovina’s capital last week. The carrier’s Head of Communications for CEE and Baltics, Alicja Wójcik-Golębiowska, said, “Ryanair was pleased to see the first flights of our new summer 2025 routes from Sarajevo to Baden Baden, Barcelona, Dusseldorf, Paris and Sweden take off, carrying lots of happy holidaymakers and marking the beginning of the summer 2025 season. These exciting new routes will operate several times per week, offering our Bosnia and Herzegovina customers even more choice at the lowest fares when booking their summer getaways”. She added, “If Sarajevo Airport wants to continue to attract investment from Ryanair, including the potential for based aircraft, it must remain competitive versus the likes of Albania, Hungary, Italy and Sweden, all of whom are abolishing aviation taxes and lowering access costs to secure valuable traffic growth. Ryanair calls on the Government of Bosnia and Herzegovina to reverse its decision to reintroduce aviation taxes to support the continued growth of the country’s aviation and tourism sector, in addition to ensuring its citizens have access to Europe’s lowest fares”.
We urge Ryanair to grow even more in Bosnia and Herzegovina. There is also Mostar which desperately needs their flights.

And as for you, you should ask yourself exactly WHY it is that nobody has money, WHY it is that despite rising productivity there is no salary growth (except corrected for inflation), WHY ..

Take your pills dude. EU countries are richer than they've ever been but people use Ryanair because there's no point paying 3 times the price to fly with Lufthansa and get the same service.

The difference is that Ryanair brings volume, so it is perfectly legitimate for it to get volume discounts and pay less than everyone else if it's the biggest. Or do you want Ryanair to pay Zadar the same that Luxair pays Zadar?

ReplyDeleteMost people who are willing to pay €29 for a ticket, are also willing to pay €39 for a ticket. So if the €1.50 is so big a problem for Ryanair, they can increase ticket prices (as long as we're not talking about drastic increases). Very weird airline...

If Bosnians stopped smoking they could afford Eur1.50 extra per ticket
