Belgrade Airport registers busiest April

Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport returned to growth with its busiest April on record by handling 683.121 passengers, representing an increase of 11% on the same month last year. The number of aircraft movements grew 6.1%. During the January - April period, Belgrade Airport welcomed 2.298.627 travellers through its doors, up 3.3%, which represents an additional 73.803 customers. The airport is on course to retain its growth in May, with scheduled capacity up 7.5%.

      Capacity is up 15% in June according to article from yesterday so I'm sure June passenger growth will be in the double digits. First time over 1 million seats scheduled in June.

    Finally, two digit percentage growth! Hopefully Belgrade will have record summer. Would be nice if we can get construction and renovation update from the airport as we didn't have them in a while.

      @18:19 They still have "appology for work" panels all over the terminal so I think there is little to be reported. JU new lounge has a heavy lock on the door

      No, JU growth in April was 15%. LF was not published, but as I remember from an article here it is believed to be around 72%.

      Well real growth will come from June because in June we are getting 7 new routes. All of them will be operational from July, so in July growth will be huge. In August more than 1 million is expected.

      As reported here yesterday, Wizz is increasing June capacity in Belgrade by 42%. That will also fuel the growth to hundreds of thousands of additional passengers.

      Наравно да не. Аеродром је јако лоше вођен и то постаје јасније сваким даном све више. Неки су се уздали да ће нови директор нешто променити али ето нас ту где смо. Ја бих уз ваш коментар о Ер Србији и Влади додао и Визер. Аеродром је скроз пасиван и незаинтересован... или пак неспособан?

      It says above, half of the YoY growth came from JU, half from other airlines, for example new route by China Southern. Wizz is increasing capacity significantly and adding 2 new destinations, FDH and ALC. Government and JU were not involved. They have to be involded for bilateras just like everywhere else in the world, for example for NQZ. Anoter new carrier not involving government or JU is SkeExpress. But you would know all of this if you were smart and capable 😀
