All capital city airports in the former Yugoslavia will see their capacity levels grow in June, with Ryanair to remain the region’s largest carrier.
Belgrade Airport has the most available seats on scheduled flights in June, standing at 1.026.394. The figure represents an increase of 14.8% on 2024. Air Serbia will increase its seat count by 8.8% at the airport and continue to maintain its position as the largest carrier, holding 52.8% of all available scheduled capacity. A resurgent Wizz Air will grow its capacity by 42.8%. Zagreb follows as the second largest with 574.280 available seats on scheduled flights during the month. It represents an increase of 12.2% on the previous year. After two months, Croatia Airlines reclaims its spot as the airport’s largest carrier with 34.4% of total capacity followed by Ryanair with 32%. While the flag carrier will grow its capacity 15.6% year-over-year, Ryanair will increase its number of seats by 16.2%.
Pristina Airport will have 387.880 available seats, with scheduled capacity growth currently projected at 3.2%. GP Aviation has the largest volume of seats, holding a 31% share. It is followed by easyJet with 13.6% of total capacity. Skopje Airport will boast 338.988 seats in June, up 15.3%, despite Wizz Air continuing to reduce its capacity, down by 1.2% on the same month last year. It will still hold the largest share at 46.3%. Sarajevo Airport has 309.750 scheduled seats on the market in June, representing an increase of 19.9% on 2024. Ryanair, which is growing its capacity by 155% year-on-year, is the largest carrier with 14.6% of seats, followed by Pegasus Airlines with 11.3%.
Podgorica Airport has 226.176 seats on scheduled flights in June, an increase of 18.3% on 2024. Wizz Air, which is growing its capacity by 29% on last year, is the largest carrier with 22% of total capacity, followed by Air Montenegro with a 18.7% share. Finally, Ljubljana has a total of 185.226 seats on scheduled services, up 18.6% on June 2024, with most carriers growing their capacity on last year. Lufthansa will be the airport’s largest with 15.6% of all seats, followed closely by Turkish Airlines with 14.1%. The Turkish carrier will add the most capacity at the airport in June when compared to last year, growing by just over 7.200 seats, followed by new entrants KLM and Eurowings.

DeleteThe gap now currently its more then 300k passengers for SKP. In the end the difference will be 1 million as expected SKP to have 3.2 million and SJJ 2.2. So I cant surely said its not coming anytime close if continues like this and as planned for next year Wizz return to the growth

DeleteWas listening to what Vučić was talking on air traffic in some startup named NišTv last weekend: He said minister Mali was not in favor of the low cost development at Niš, because it harmed Air Serbia, "and Air Serbia is providing us with national sovereignity, plus it was of much help during Covid", blabla, pure rubbish mostly. If otherwise, he said, Belgrade would have more pax than Tirana. He also said Niš would have some million pax soon. That tells us that the strategy is to develop low cost mainly at Niš, and not at Belgrade.
And that is a flawed strategy, because it will not enable Belgrade reaching its optimum in terms of air traffic, but also tourism. And we`ll be spending more money for travel than necessary.
You seem to think that Ryanair has a ban on flying from Belgrade. They can launch flights as they wish. Same as Wizz Air, which is expanding with 4 based planes. Ryanair does not want to launch flights under the same terms as others so it will not be coming to Belgrade.
