All capital city airports in the former Yugoslavia will see their capacity levels grow in June, with Ryanair to remain the region’s largest carrier.
Belgrade Airport has the most available seats on scheduled flights in June, standing at 1.026.394. The figure represents an increase of 14.8% on 2024. Air Serbia will increase its seat count by 8.8% at the airport and continue to maintain its position as the largest carrier, holding 52.8% of all available scheduled capacity. It represents an increase of 12.2% on the previous year. After two months, Croatia Airlines reclaims its spot as the airport’s largest carrier with 34.4% of total capacity followed by Ryanair with 32%. While the flag carrier will grow its capacity 15.6% year-over-year, Ryanair will increase its number of seats by 16.2%.
Pristina Airport will have 387.880 available seats, with scheduled capacity growth currently projected at 3.2%. GP Aviation has the largest volume of seats, holding a 31% share. It is followed by easyJet with 13.6% of total capacity. Skopje Airport will boast 338.988 seats in June, up 15.3%, despite Wizz Air continuing to reduce its capacity, down by 1.2% on the same month last year. It will still hold the largest share at 46.3%. Sarajevo Airport has 309.750 scheduled seats on the market in June, representing an increase of 19.9% on 2024. Ryanair, which is growing its capacity by 155% year-on-year, is the largest carrier with 14.6% of seats, followed by Pegasus Airlines with 11.3%.
Podgorica Airport has 226.176 seats on scheduled flights in June, an increase of 18.3% on 2024. Finally, Ljubljana has a total of 185.226 seats on scheduled services, up 18.6% on June 2024, with most carriers growing their capacity on last year. Lufthansa will be the airport’s largest with 15.6% of all seats, followed closely by Turkish Airlines with 14.1%. The Turkish carrier will add the most capacity at the airport in June when compared to last year, growing by just over 7.200 seats, followed by new entrants KLM and Eurowings.
Largest carriers by scheduled seat capacity in the former Yugoslavia, June 2025
Nice to see BEG with over 1 million
ReplyDeleteIs it the first time in June?
DeleteI think it was 2 years ago as well but maybe admin could tell us.
DeleteI hope he tells us!
DeleteYes, it is the first time there are over one million scheduled seats in June.
DeleteExcellent. Waiting for them to handle over 1 million passengers in a single month. Maybe next year?
DeleteSarajevo is really closing the gap with Skopje.
ReplyDeleteThings are falling into place but it will take at least 2 more years to catch up.
DeleteLet's hope Ryanair stays around for that long
DeleteWow, its only 29,000 difference between Skopje and Sarajevo! Well done Sarajevo! I think Bosnia overall now has more passengers than Macedonia?
DeleteYes it does
DeleteThe gap now currently its more then 300k passengers for SKP. In the end the difference will be 1 million as expected SKP to have 3.2 million and SJJ 2.2. So I cant surely said its not coming anytime close if continues like this and as planned for next year Wizz return to the growth
DeleteOverall Bosnia with 4 airports yes maybe have more passengers then Macedonia in the moment. But SJJ is still far away of overpass SKP , in the end difference will be 1 million last year was 1.2 ..
DeleteNice rebound for Croatia Airlines at ZAG
ReplyDeleteAnd that's before the new routes launch :)
DeleteJU 800, OU 300 is anything but nice and is hardly rebound. They used to have more than JU during last days of Jat airways
DeleteI meant rebound since Ryanair was larger fot the last couple of months.
DeleteAnon 9:15, that belong to “once upon a time” section, never yo repeat again…
DeleteThey’re finally back as number one in Zagreb, but Ryanair isn’t going anywhere.
DeleteThey are number one by seats oferred.
DeleteTheir LF is 60 %
Ryanair LF is 90%
Do your maths.
And it counts for rebound as well
The numbers show both are growing, which is good for passengers.
DeleteFirst time I see Wizz with under 50% share in SKP.
ReplyDeleteStill depending too much on Wizz Air, especially without strong second carrier.
Deletehow is suddenly 46% too much?
DeleteWizz is set to return growth in 2026 lets see will that be true. This cuttings still really hitting SKP..
DeleteLJU still lagging behind others in terms of total capacity, but at least we’re finally seeing some solid growth.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see Ljubljana improving
DeleteBravo Fraport!
DeleteStill 20% beow 2019 and 30% below 2018.
DeleteThose days are long gone. Time to move on.
DeleteNow 100% of LJU traffic is O&D, back then JP was a transfer carrier from the region and Albania to north Europe.
DeleteSo stop comparing apples and oranges.
@ 9:29
DeleteI agree! About time. My fellow Slovenians have trouble moving forward.
Ljubljana slowly climbing back up. Turkish and Lufthansa leading is no surprise, but the arrival of KLM and Eurowings is a big win.
DeleteFunny that TK adds more seats in LJU than two airlines that didn't got there before.
ReplyDeleteBelgrade will kill it in June. Over 1 million on scheduled flights, and the charter season will be in full swing in June, especially for Turkey and Egypt.
ReplyDeleteBEG should be around 935.000 in June
DeleteDon't think so anon 09:51 . You are talking about 20% growth since last june BEG had 775.000 passengers . More realistic a 10% growth and and about 860.000 passengers.
DeleteSarajevo finally becoming a low cost hub
ReplyDeleteLCC hub?
DeleteThe LCC market share isn't even 20% yet
DeleteHave I missed something SJJ has a based LCC?
DeleteLCC hub is something like wooden stove
DeleteBetter than charter hub 😀
DeleteLucky us all ove ex-yu, being so developed and with so many hubs; LJU charter hub, SJJ LCC hub, ZAG hub for Intergalactic Spaceship A220, SPU 3 months hub...We are so cute and hubby 🙂
DeleteCharter hub is great success! Stop with conspiracies!
Delete🤣
DeleteBEG is JU hub!
DeleteYes, and the only one within ex-yu which can be called hub. That's why I didn't put it on the want to be hub list above
DeleteRyanair discovering the region.
ReplyDeleteThey need to do something will all the extra planes after they left airports in Spain and Germany because they couldn't pull off any more blackmails there
They are yet to discover Belgrade.
DeleteDoes BEG really want FR? Or the ministry? I seriously doubt it.
Deletediscovering the region?? hardly so
DeleteI love how easyjet is in the top in the region each summer for 4 months and them disappears.
ReplyDeleteStill needs to discover the region beyond the Croatian coast
DeleteOr at least add a few routes to Split year round.
Delete"Still needs to discover the region beyond the Croatian coast"
DeleteeasyJet flies to Ljubljana, Belgrade, Pristina, Skopje, Tivat, Tirana etc
I think it's you who has things to discover.
^ Apart from being rude, you could have done a bit of research and seen the very low volume of flights they have from those airports. In terms of region I was reffering to ex-Yu. I don't really care what they do in Tirana.
DeleteGood job by all airports
ReplyDeleteAir Montenegro is second largest in Podgorica, that's a change for better.
ReplyDeleteIt only took 4 years 😀
DeleteWonder where Montenegro Airlines would be now had it survived.
DeleteSame as it was then. I am don't know how long Air Montenegro will survive either. Montenegro is really advancing in EU integration. They will have to stop pumping money into it at some point.
DeleteThe aid is already under investigation.
DeleteHere is link
Deletehttps://www.exyuaviation.com/2025/03/watchdog-investigating-air-montenegro.html
Air Montenegro needs more regional routes.
DeleteSARAJEVO! S A R A J E V O O O O!
ReplyDeleteWhat is the PAX traffic of Belgrade airport in April?
ReplyDeleteAdmin said the other day It is being published tomorrow afternoon
DeleteThx a lot
DeleteHey admin, when will PRN numbers for April be published?
ReplyDeleteDo you think Ryanair someday enter to the market of BEG? Would it be possible in the near future?
ReplyDeleteFR said they have no intention of flying to BEG in the near future.
DeleteThey fly to Nis.
DeleteWhich is totally unrelated, since Niš is not in the Belgrade region.
DeleteWas listening to what Vučić was talking on air traffic in some startup named NišTv last weekend: He said minister Mali was not in favor of the low cost development at Niš, because it harmed Air Serbia, "and Air Serbia is providing us with national sovereignity, plus it was of much help during Covid", blabla, pure rubbish mostly. If otherwise, he said, Belgrade would have more pax than Tirana. He also said Niš would have some million pax soon. That tells us that the strategy is to develop low cost mainly at Niš, and not at Belgrade.
And that is a flawed strategy, because it will not enable Belgrade reaching its optimum in terms of air traffic, but also tourism. And we`ll be spending more money for travel than necessary.
You seem to think that Ryanair has a ban on flying from Belgrade. They can launch flights as they wish. Same as Wizz Air, which is expanding with 4 based planes. Ryanair does not want to launch flights under the same terms as others so it will not be coming to Belgrade.
DeleteExcellent growth from almost all of them.
ReplyDeleteIt's great to see Belgrade cross the 1 million seat mark in June already
ReplyDeleteImpressive jump for Sarajevo. Ryanair clearly sees big potential there. I hope the airport can keep up with the growth infrastructure wise.
ReplyDeleteCurious to see the load factors for the FR flights.
DeleteApparently the loadfactors on Ryanair in Sarajevo are quite high
DeleteRyanair has high load factors everywhere.
DeleteEspecially in SJJ
DeleteWow SKP hitting 300k + even with all Wizz cuts and reduces , this telling me that July and August would be even higher , this is so nice to see. Cant wait to see Wizz return for next year!!!
ReplyDelete@Admin
ReplyDeleteDo you have the numbers for which carrier drives the growth at SKP, since Wizz is still decreasing the capacity? I am guessing it is Pegasus, and perhaps Transavia/Easyjet?
