Belgrade Airport has the most available seats on scheduled flights in July, standing at 1.145.299. The figure represents an increase of 5.6% on 2025. Air Serbia will continue to maintain its position as the largest carrier with a record 616.646 seats, up 6.7%. It marks the first time the flag carrier will have over 600.000 scheduled seats in a single month at its Belgrade hub. Wizz Air will add 37.035 seats, growing by 20.5%. Zagreb follows as the second largest with 602.888 available seats on scheduled flights during the month. It represents a decrease of 3.9% on the previous year. Croatia Airlines will decrease its capacity by 1.6% but will continue to be the airport’s largest carrier with 221.264 seats. It is ahead of Ryanair with 197.638 seats, up 4.1%.
Skopje Airport will boast 489.508 seats in July, representing a 31.6% increase compared to the same month in 2025, with all of the growth driven by Wizz Air. The low cost carrier will add 140.014 seats, marking an 86.6% increase year-on-year. However, excluding Wizz Air, all other scheduled airlines at Skopje Airport will collectively register a 10.7% decline in seat capacity. Pristina Airport will have 455.642 available seats, with capacity currently projected to decline 5.6%. It follows large-scale frequency cuts by GP Aviation, which will result in the airline removing over 27.3% of its capacity compared to last July.
Podgorica Airport will see the full impact of the latest batch on new Wizz Air routes launched throughout June following the opening of its base in the Montenegrin capital in late March. The airport has 359.900 seats on scheduled flights during the month, up 47.3%. Wizz Air will be the largest carrier by adding 107.676 seats, representing growth of 200%, for a total capacity share of 44.9%. It is followed by Ryanair with 12.4% of the market.
Sarajevo will have 351.470 scheduled seats in July, representing a decrease of 2.6% on 2025. The decline is being fuelled by the absence of Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, which has shut down, Qatar Airways and SAS Scandinavian Airlines, as well as frequency cuts by Turkish Airlines and Kuwait Airways. Finally, Ljubljana has a total of 233.593 seats on scheduled services, up 18.1% on July 2025. Lufthansa, despite having fewer flights, will have more seats, retaining its position as the airport’s largest, holding 16.6% of capacity. It is followed by Turkish Airlines with a 10.4% share, with its number of seats down 10.9%, and Swiss with 8.9% of the market and its capacity up 51.8% year-on-year.
Largest carriers by scheduled seat capacity in the former Yugoslavia, July 2026
Overall scheduled seat capacity in July across all former Yugoslav markets and airports combined: 6.116.260, up 6.7% year-on-year
Please note that the above figures are correct as of the date of publication. As the month progresses, they may change due to schedule revisions or equipment adjustments. Nevertheless, they provide a reliable indication of overall capacity trends across the airports.

ReplyDelete"However, excluding Wizz Air, all other scheduled airlines at Skopje Airport will collectively register a 10.7% decline in seat capacity."
The whole airport depends on Wizz.
DeleteI'm not surprised by the decline for other airlines considering Lufthansa is leaveing in July, TK, LO and many other have decreased frequnecies.
Delete@10:32 LH left because OS was flying empty A320s with 40pax to SKP, while LH was 95% of the time with over 100pax on every flight.
DeleteTK and LO and many others decreaseing frequencies? Tell me when and how?
TK has the tendation to sometimes remove one or two of the weekly flights in the month, im general they still run 14 times per week, twice daily.
LO is flying daily between WAW and SKP just like they did last year. The actual decrease is when compared to 2024 when they flew 9 times per week instead of 7 only in July and August.
JU is again flying twice daily, 14 times per week.
Edelweiss is again flying theee times per week from ZRH.
Chair has actually increased ZRH from 7 to 8 weekly compared to
last year.
No change on easyJet or Norwegian.
Croatia has reduced the flights when compared to last yeat cause SPU is discontinued.
Aegean is flying three times per week.
There is no Transavia unlike last year.
There is additional daily flight to SAW by Pegasus every friday, in total 3 flights that day. Ajet will again fly to ESB and together with Pegasus they operate Cukurova charters once a week which are 100% full.
Not to mention the charters to AYT, BJV, MIR and HRG.
So no, the whole airport is not dependent on Wizz, cause people also fly to other places not covered by the 35 routes Wizz has from SKP.

@admin, can you tell us which airlines have decreased capacity in Skopje this July?
DeleteThe decreased capacity is because of the LH exit. At least thats how i understand it.
DeleteAirlines with less capacity in July include Lufthansa and Transavia, which have left the market, AJet, LOT Polish Airlines, Turkish Airlines, SunExpress and Croatia Airlines.
DeleteThat's a lot
Delete@11:49 stop crying and accept the truth
DeleteSkopje fanboys only believe in growth and more and more.
DeleteEvery airport faces decreasing this summer , but SKP still heading towards 500k passngers in a single month which is huge growth!!!! And 30.6 % growth is massive. Btw SKopje-Ankara starting July 2th with Ajet and will run all summer 2x weekly
DeleteIt does not matter what they are starting. They have less capacity than last July.
DeleteYes because of the war all feel that , but this July will come close to 500k which is impressive and thats important!!!
DeleteSo what if there is less capacity than last July , did last July airport come close to 500k in a single month ? No , but this July will come close to that number and thats what matter !!!
DeleteConsidering the current situation in global aviation, this is more than a good result. Still growing more than nearly all the airports in the region but some people prefer to look for a ''hair in the egg'' as we say in the Balkans... The dogs are barking, the carriage moves on.
DeleteWhy are people from Skopje so obsessed with figures? I dont get it.
DeleteNo we arent, its You that are writing this same comment over and over again.
DeleteP.S i dont need to stop crying cause what admin said was the same as i did. Turkish has removed three to four flights a month to SKP, LOT is down from 9 weekly and AJet is no longer operating Diyarbakir and Cukurova as scheduled but as charter flights. Adddionaly this summer Turkish and Pegasus will also operate those two as charters together with Samsun. In fact Ajet is returning BJV this year which last operated in 2024 but its still a decrease cause of the non scheduled Mersin and Diyarbakir routes. In addition, i forgot yes that OU has a reduction this year cause they dont operate SPU anymore.
So again, admin confirmed what i was saying.
When is Wizz expecting to base the 7th aircraft in Skopje?
ReplyDelete13 July this year.
DeleteI can't believe Croatia Airlines now has less capacity than last year. Absolutely crazy.
ReplyDeleteSkopje meanwhile is almost at Zagreb level.
Delete600 vs 490 is "almost" for this guy
DeleteWho generates Zagreb decline together with CA?
ReplyDeleteFlydubai, Turkish Airlines, Qatar Airways, Norweigan (no longer operating to Zagreb) , Austrian and T'Way Air have the biggest decrease in capacity compared to last July.
DeleteSeems that touristic season in Croatia will be thinner this year. Expected, regarding wild prices
DeleteAint much cheaper in CG. I notice far far fewer Serbs here this year. Loads of northern Europeans and Israelis
Delete@Anonymous 09:32
DeleteOne can hope and pray for it but the reality is that tourist visits so far this year are at record levels and so are revenues.
And it looks like it will continue like that for the rest of the year...
@10:35
DeleteThat is bad news for Pozdrav!
^True dat.
DeleteThere might be more tourists but I think most come by road and not by plane.
DeletePeople on this forum will never understand that prices in Croatia and Montenegro are high as a CONSEQUENCE of tourists coming.
DeleteBoth countries have some of the best roads in the region are also the result of that.
DeleteWell, they will not come by train, for sure
DeleteWas on a morning Swiss flight from LJU to ZRH today, there was only some 40 passengers on board. I hope their big increase in capacity is otherwise working out overall.
ReplyDeleteIt is the week of vacations in Slovenia, due to Thursday being a day off. Those flights are full most of the week days.
DeleteGood to hear, I was quite shocked to see so little passengers.
Deletei flew with them few days ago, plane was sold out.
DeleteSo JU offers 16k seats in Niš and Kraljevo combined, in July? Also regarding JU, I see that one GetJet A320 has started to fly for JU since since June 12th. Is some plane out of order, or just additional capacity is needed?
ReplyDeleteCompensation for 2 A320 who were supposed to already be integrated in the fleet, no idea what's taking so long
DeleteThe two from Aegean had some problems with paperwork so they had to get other ones. They are currently in maintenance.
DeleteWill Ljubljana reach 200k pax?
ReplyDeleteCould be actually beyond the scheduled pax number, with about 3 daily charters every day of the month, that aren't counted in
DeleteIt's more than 3, for example today there will be 5 charters (if you count in Brasov, which I don't know if it's happening), tomorrow we have 6 departures etc
DeleteWho is using those Brasov flights?
DeleteHonestly no idea, I see that Saab2000 is used this week, as a one way flight, so it's surely for the Slovenian turist going to Romunia. Let's wait for next week
DeleteI managed to found this https://www.agencija-oskar.si/romunija/romunija-z-letalom/
Pristina's decline shows how much influence GP Aviation now has on the market. One airline cuts frequencies and the whole airport feels it.
ReplyDeleteAnd GP no longer among the ten biggest airlines.
Delete^ i have a feeling they will go belly up this winter.
DeleteWhy?
DeleteThey cut a lot in summer, their found has been arrested...
DeleteWhat is W6 seat capacity in BEG for the month?
ReplyDelete217.901 seats.
DeleteThanks Admin. One third of Air Serbia. And with "huge growth" (actually restoring old capacity)
DeleteAir Serbia's position in Belgrade looks stronger than ever. More than half of all seats at the airport are now on the national carrier.
Delete^
DeleteIf JU 's position was so strong they wouldn't try to close down Wizz's base.
+1
DeleteThey are not, except in your imagination. Wizz just need to follow rules, in order to keep its base at BEG. Numbers clearly shows that gap between JU and W6 is actually growing. JU added more seats than W6, which is actually not growing, but restoring its capacity. They still have 4 planes at BEG, since 2023
DeleteWhat rules exactly? There is no clear rule which forbids them from having a base there, that's how they got the permit from the government in the first place. What this is is simply JU being unable to compete with W6 on an equal footing.
DeleteIf I were JU, I would ask myself why passengers are running so much to fly with Wizz Air.
Don't you all get bored writing the same thing over and over again under every single topic?
DeleteAlmost every topic gets polluted by Wizz Belgrade base comments.
DeleteWell its a disgusting move by the authorities so people are rightly angry.
DeletePolluting every single topic won't change anything.
DeleteNo worse than SKP is amazing comments. But yeah i agree
DeleteYes, there are clear rules regarding line maintenance, which W6 doesn't follow. They think they don't have to, since their planes are not registered in Serbia. Now they will have to be
Delete^ 20:51 i think we all agree this is a topic that has done to death. Leave it alone. Please
DeleteCompletely forgot about Wizz Air Abu Dhabi and that they were still around this time last year.
ReplyDeleteRyanair was the story of 2025, but 2026 clearly belongs to Wizz Air.
ReplyDeleteThe race between Wizz Air and Ryanair is becoming less competitive. Wizz is opening bases and adding aircraft, while Ryanair seems to be barely growing in the region.
DeleteAnd Ljubljana begging for either to just open one new line
DeleteFraport is doing the opposite of begging.
DeleteFR this year Europewide has small percentage wise growth.
DeleteW6 on the other hand with the issues of the Pratt engines on the NEOs being resolved can and does expand capacity aggresively.
Interesting times ahead for sure.
Because they are still trying impossible, To run business like 10-15 years ago, with same prices and same expenses. It's a no go
Delete^ who?
DeleteI am surprised Lufthansa remains Ljubljana's largest carrier despite reducing frequencies. The larger aircraft clearly make a difference.
ReplyDeleteAre they sending A321s?
DeleteMunich is upgraded from CRJ900 to A319/A320. Frankfurt is upgraded from CRJ-1000 to 1x E195 and 2x A319/20/21 so it makes a huge difference
DeleteThe decline in Sarajevo is disappointing. The airport had built strong momentum over the past few years.
ReplyDeleteIt will bounce back. It is affected by the Middle East situation.
DeleteHopefully Ryanair base incoming this winter.
Delete2.6% in capacity is nothing, it can be fixed by LF and many leisure routes such as Antalya are now done using commercial carriers like Pegasus and SunExpress, as opposed to charters, higher prices for regular people but higher LF as well.
DeleteArkia is also returning in July with flights to Tel Aviv.
DeleteMontenegro's decision to support Wizz Air's base is already paying off.
ReplyDeleteLet's see what happens long term.
DeleteA few years ago many people were predicting Ryanair would dominate the Balkans. Today Wizz Air appears to have regained the upper hand.
ReplyDeleteRyanair was saying it too
DeleteRyanair is also saying Wizz Air will be bankrupt by the end of the year.
DeleteWell the one with the bad finaces is not Ryanair..
DeleteThanks for the numbers
ReplyDeleteAdmin, is there any wide body flights scheduled (even a one off) for Ljubljana? I remember JAL and ANA flying a few times per year to Ljubljana
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame that they didn't sell Adria and the Airport to China Southern...what could've been
DeleteAt the moment, there are no wide-body flights shceduled.
Delete@10.20 +1 I think we would at least have flights to China.
DeleteI just found the article talking about it:
Criminal
DeleteYou do realize that Chinese airlines can not own the majority of shares of a European airline, right?
DeleteWhen will Wizz Air make the decision regarding the Belgrade airport
ReplyDeleteThere was news about this 5 days ago. Why not open that article and read it?
Delete"Asked by EX-YU Aviation News about the deadline for making a decision on the future of the base, Mr Rado says a decision would need to be made "soon", while stressing that Wizz Air does not want to take such a step"
Deletehttps://www.exyuaviation.com/2026/06/live-wizz-air-to-present-future-growth.html
They will not close down the base before late September, if it even happens.
Delete^ The airline has said that if they have to close it will happen in November. It was also explained in an article here that the reason it will happen from November (start of winter season) is because under the new rules all airlines must submit at least 30 days in advance their planned schedules for each season. So it is expected that the Directorate would reject a schedule under which Wizz flights would start the journey from BEG.
DeleteCant believe that SKP is reaching almost 500k passengers in a single month , amazing results !!!!
ReplyDeleteYou really are the skopje mega fan right? The !!! Are your trademark
DeleteLess capacity from 2025 July but 2026 reaching 500k pax , SKP is incredible👏
ReplyDeleteWizz at SKP has more capacizy than OU at ZAG? hillarious
ReplyDeleteWhy is that hilarious?
DeleteIncredibke TGD!
ReplyDeleteSkopje Airport - Wizzair love affair is getting out of hand. Seeing growth is great, but Skopje Airport business model is becoming more and more concerning.
