NEWS FLASH
A global hotel chain has signed a franchise agreement to manage Ljubljana Airport’s first hotel. As reported late last year, work on the construction of the facility will begin following the completion of environmental assessments and permitting processes. The project is spearheaded by the investment firm Revestum, operating through its project company Aeras. The total investment is estimated at just under 25 million euros. The specific international hotel brand under which the tentatively named Hotel Brnik will operate has not been disclosed due to contractual obligations.
The hotel will be situated on a triangular parcel of land adjacent to the Cargo Partner logistics center, near the road connecting Kranj and Komenda. The hotel is designed in an L-shape, encompassing approximately 7.673 square meters over eight floors, including two underground levels. It will feature 160 rooms, a conference hall, fitness center, and a restaurant. Rooms facing the main road are planned to include balconies. The hotel aims to cater primarily to business travellers, particularly employees of nearby industrial zones such as Brnik, Komenda and Hrastje, which currently lack adequate lodging facilities. Additionally, it will serve airport passengers, airline staff, and transit guests seeking convenient accommodation close to the airport. The hotel expected to open its doors by late 2027 or early 2028.
Nice but that's a long time until hotel is opened
ReplyDeleteNo need for such architectural monster. There are many accomodation options few km away already. Why stay in this boring "desert area"?
ReplyDeleteMain market for this is probs business travellers, not tourists
DeleteTypical Slovenian mentality - no need for this, no need for that. If the progress of the world depended on us - Slovenes - we’d all still be using wooden spoons. If that! I, for one, welcome this project. Not to mention the jobs and benefits to the economy it will bring, as all such projects inevitably do.

Similar Zagreb saga is going on for 10 or more years already and still nothing...
ReplyDeleteGood thing for LJU, also for crews or Kuehne Nagel/Novartis/Sandoz Business people. Novartis is growing year by year. In Q1 of 2025 Slovenia cause of this Lek/Sandoz/Novartis Business has become the 3rd! largest trade partner for Switzerland. I also like the design of the hotel. The Kuehne Nagel pharma hub warehouse is close by the new hotel. Good development since it is creating a lot of good paid jobs in the area.
