Not for middle east itself, but to the Muslim countries there. And to be even more precise, not to, but from those countries. Muslims from there come to Bosnia ( Sarajevo and other Muslim places) and that's it.

Arabs primarily come to visit the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bihać is the most interesting to them because of the greenery and rivers. Then because of the waterfalls and mountains, so mostly because of the natural beauty. Of course it is a plus that there are a lot of people of the Islamic faith, but that is not crucial for them. They travel all over Europe, but still people from the Balkans are warmer and that is why they are happy to return.Of course, it is incomparably cheaper.

      Why so much demand?
      1. It's nice and green, not too hot, rivers, lakes: everything they see in Bosnia is scarcity in their countries.
      2. It's cheap (relatively) while they are still in Europe.
      3. They can drink (no legal issues) they can pray
      4. No visas during summer season

Since I worked in tourism and spoke with these people, I can share what they told me. In other countries, due to their traditions—such as women being covered—they often face a lot of discrimination, which they don’t experience as much in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Pay attention, for example, to how people react to covered women in Zagreb or Belgrade compared to how they react in Sarajevo.

Great news for Sarajevo! The more airlines the better.

Re Salam Air, I don't know how someone can spend 6 hours in their plane. Flew with them Dubai-Muscat recently in a brand new plane. Inside it looked like it had been flying for 15 years. And it was very cramped.

I flew Doha to Muscat (and back) last year on Salamair and it was very narrow and uncomfortable, even on much shorter flight. I really wouldn't go for it on 6 hours leg, no matter of the price

Maybe you could advise the airport management to ban these Middle Eastern routes and push for connections with Western Europe, even if there's no current demand.

Sarajevo needs connections with Europe more than with a Middle East.
