NEWS FLASH

Swiss is increasing capacity on its upcoming new seasonal service between Zurich and Niš. Flights on the route are due to commence on June 30. They were initially scheduled to be maintained with the 134-seat Embraer E195 E2 aircraft, operated by Swiss’ partner Helvetic Airways. However, the route will now be solely operated by Swiss. The airline will deploy the 125-seat Airbus A220-100 aircraft on nine flights, the 145-seat A220-300 on three flights, the 219-seat A321 on two rotations, and the 180-seat A320neo on one. Overall, Swiss will boast 4.646 seats on its Niš operations this summer, up from the initially planned 4.288 seats.

I tried booking connecting flights from Amsterdam and back, but their prices are through the roof. I guess there is enough P2P demand, which is highly seasonal, that’s why this route operates only in peak summer. Useful if you're south Serbian gasto in CH, not for much else.

    Are you sure this seat capacity is correct? As I saw somewhere, they will have 8 rotations × 125 seats = 1,000 seats, 5 rotations × 145 seats = 725 seats, 1 rotation × 180 seats = 180 seats, 2 rotations × 219 seats = 438 seats. That is total of 2,343 seats.

Yes, the capcity written in the article is correct. Total number of operations on this route this summer is 32 with a total of 4.646 seats. The capacity levels published on this site are calculated by software linked to the GDS which has direct access to the number of seats each airline has on each route based on their capacity input.
