NEWS FLASH
Swiss is increasing capacity on its upcoming new seasonal service between Zurich and Niš. Flights on the route are due to commence on June 30. They were initially scheduled to be maintained with the 134-seat Embraer E195 E2 aircraft, operated by Swiss’ partner Helvetic Airways. However, the route will now be solely operated by Swiss. The airline will deploy the 125-seat Airbus A220-100 aircraft on nine flights, the 145-seat A220-300 on three flights, the 219-seat A321 on two rotations, and the 180-seat A320neo on one. Overall, Swiss will boast 4.646 seats on its Niš operations this summer, up from the initially planned 4.288 seats.
Nice to get Swiss mainline.
ReplyDeleteUnexpected but great news for INI. Hopefully LX adds flights around New Year
ReplyDeleteI tried booking connecting flights from Amsterdam and back, but their prices are through the roof. I guess there is enough P2P demand, which is highly seasonal, that’s why this route operates only in peak summer. Useful if you're south Serbian gasto in CH, not for much else.
ReplyDeletewe’re very happy to avoid BG and navigating buses for 3 hours 😂
DeleteAre you sure this seat capacity is correct? As I saw somewhere, they will have 8 rotations × 125 seats = 1,000 seats, 5 rotations × 145 seats = 725 seats, 1 rotation × 180 seats = 180 seats, 2 rotations × 219 seats = 438 seats. That is total of 2,343 seats.
ReplyDeleteBoth directions should be count, so 4,686 based on your info.
Delete2300x2=4600
DeleteCapacity is counted for both ways, outgoing and incoming
Yes, the capcity written in the article is correct. Total number of operations on this route this summer is 32 with a total of 4.646 seats. The capacity levels published on this site are calculated by software linked to the GDS which has direct access to the number of seats each airline has on each route based on their capacity input.
DeleteWe love you INI!
ReplyDelete+1za majanje :)
DeleteThey should operate year round service with E195
ReplyDeleteWould never work.
DeleteWhy wouldn't it work?
DeleteThey're planning on going year round from the next year, I've read that somewhere
DeleteЕ95 twice a week should not be a problem.
DeleteVery nice, I wonder what other legacy carriers INI could realistically get
