Low cost carrier easyJet plans to launch new routes from both Belgrade and Ljubljana this coming winter season. The airline will introduce flights between Paris Charles de Gaulle and the Serbian capital, as well as a new service between Manchester and Ljubljana.
easyJet will inaugurate flights between Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport and Belgrade on October 27, with services to be maintained twice per week on Mondays and Fridays. It will compete directly against Air Serbia on the route. Paris will become easyJet’s second destination out of Belgrade alongside Geneva. Last year, the Serbian flag carrier handled 193.500 passengers between the two capitals, registering an average annual cabin load factor of 83.3%. In addition, Wizz Air maintains services between Belgrade and Beauvais Airport, located some eighty kilometres from downtown Paris. In 2024, it welcomed 88.903 travellers on the route, for an average annual cabin occupancy of 90.2%.
The new Paris service will mark the first time more than one airline has operated between Belgrade and Charles de Gaulle Airport since Air France ended its seasonal flights on the route in 2022. Earlier this year, Transavia France had planned to launch flights between Paris Orly and Belgrade but cancelled the service before it commenced. Further details on easyJet’s new Belgrade flights can be found here.
easyJet will launch a new service between Manchester and Ljubljana on November 4, with flights operating twice weekly, on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The airline will face no competition on the route. Manchester will become easyJet’s second destination from Ljubljana, complementing its existing service to London Gatwick. The two cities were last linked with a scheduled air service on a seasonal summer basis by Adria Airways in 2019. During the former flag carrier’s last full summer of operations in 2018, it handled 2 651 passengers on the route, for an average cabin load factor of 70.9%. Further flight details for easyJet’s new Ljubljana service can be viewed here.
Tickets for both routes are now available for purchase through the airline's website.
Bravo BEG 🇷🇸🇷🇸🇷🇸
ReplyDeleteBravo Vinci!
DeleteYess!!!!
DeleteI guess its another "game on" for Air Serbia!😃
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing JU will be increasing frequnecies to CDG this winter :D
DeleteJU has to react promptly.
DeleteThis is exactly the kind of competition that improves service and lowers prices.
DeleteTwice weekly isn’t enough. If easyJet wants to seriously compete on BEG-CDG, they’ll need more frequency and flexibility.
DeleteLjubljana keeps winning?
ReplyDeleteFraport does!
DeleteIt now has year round service to MAN unlike any other ExYu airport.
They are not year round yet. And Dubrovnik has flights to Manchester 10 months a year.
Delete@Anon 09:20
DeleteYou can hope that a route launched in the off season won't be flown in the high season after it has time to build up demand and get travelers to know and use the direct connection but it is unlikely.
Chances are that these routes that are launched in winter will get more frequencies for nest year summer season.
I flew to MAN on JP and it was full back then. Hopefully, it sticks.
DeleteNice addition and unexpected.
ReplyDeletei told you more UK destinations are coming ... :) london should be next
DeleteW6 LGW? EasyJet already serves LGW and I borderly don‘t see BHX or EDI working from LJU.
Deleteas far as i know it should be stansted or southend.
DeleteOrly would have been better
ReplyDeleteMais oui.
DeleteLGW-BEG would have been amazing.
DeleteORL should have been launched by Transavia. Sadly they decided not to serve a major Vinci operated airport.
DeleteU2 launching CDG is great news and hopefully for Summer '26 it will gain frequencies.
It would have been also great for BEG if U2 had launched UK flights. MAN, LGW, EDI or wherever would have been amazing.
Ljubljana flights have a almost perfect departure times
ReplyDeleteAgreed, departures before check-out hour are always very much appreciated
DeleteLjubljana should actually be getting more easyjet routes if my info is correct.
ReplyDeleteBerlin please ...
DeletePlease be Memmingen with Wizz
DeleteMemmingnem is like 3 hours away by car lol
DeleteZagreb 4?
DeleteNo, Memmingen to LJU is actually 6 hours and ZAG near to 8 which has 3pw flights with Ryanair
DeleteGreat news. I wish easy launched MAN-BEG instead of Paris which we already have but this is not bad either.
ReplyDelete+1000
DeleteIt is wild that still MAN isn't served from BEG.
The visa situation should have been resolved already.
That would make sense, for real. It's hilarious that Serbian citizens still need visa for the UK. Also, Serbia and the UK are poorly connected. We only have flights to London.
DeleteAlmost 200k passengers BEG - Paris airports. Can it hit 250k in 2025?
ReplyDeleteActually I'm really impressed by JU's number on this route for last year.
DeleteGreat to see them expanding! How is the Orly-Skopje route doing? My cousin flew it last month and both flights were nearly packed just a few seats left. Hope Easyjet sees the potential in this region
ReplyDeleteThe route is currently scheduled only for the winter, they probably do not think to keep it that way?
ReplyDeleteGreat to see easyJet expanding in the region! More choice and better fares are always welcome.
ReplyDeleteEspecially on the Paris route where Air Serbia had a monopoly for too long.
DeleteSame for Geneva, Easyjet had monopoly for too long. More choice is always better.
DeleteFinally a direct link between Manchester and Ljubljana again!
ReplyDeleteCould Manchester work long term for Ljubljana?
ReplyDeleteWhy not
DeleteJust curious, I'm hopeful it does!
DeleteI think it should, easyjet recently ran ads for Ljubljana on Daily Mail
DeleteNice to see LCCs filling gaps left by legacy airlines like Adria and Air France. Hope these routes stick around long term.
ReplyDeleteEasyjet vs Transavia = 1:0
ReplyDeleteHope for LGW-BEG next...
+1
DeleteMAN-BEG is badly needed as well.
Not gonna happen, Serbs need visas.
DeleteNice for both city. Hopefully more Easyjet in BEG!
ReplyDeleteWill be curious to see how the load factors compare between easyJet and Wizz on the Paris routes from Belgrade.
ReplyDeleteSomeone actually talked here in comments a few days ago about two new UK routes coming to Ljubljana. And one actually came so I wonder if the second one will as well and if it does which one.
ReplyDeleteLondon
DeleteBut if Easyjet will launch another one it will hardly be London as they already serve Gatwick.
Deletein the past they were flying to gatwick and stansted ...
DeleteIn 2020 they planned to fly 10 weekly STN, 5 weekly LGW and 4 weekly LTN.
DeleteLjubljana’s slowly rebuilding its network post-Adria. Manchester is a smart choice with real potential for year-round traffic.
ReplyDeleteeasyJet doesn't show any interest in SJJ or any other Bosnian airport though. Weird. Nice for BEG and LJU though to get new routes.
ReplyDeleteeasyJet is a lot more focused on more premium markets and passengers than FR or W6 are.
DeleteThey overwhelmingly cater to British travelers and the destinations they want to go to.
The so called gastarbeiter market despite being very large in our region is an afterthought for U2.
SJJ has just lost it's connection to LONDON a few days ago, easyJet in that context sounds like a wet dream for the bosnians travelers.
DeleteThe Monday schedule for CDG-BEG-CDG is perfect. Finally some midday departure that is much needed.
ReplyDeleteThat is so true.
DeleteAFKL really dropped the ball on this one. I can even kind of understand AF not launching flights, but TO cancelling the launch from ORY was a massive mistake. Now U2 will reap the rewards. In any case, great news for the BEG-PAR market!
ReplyDeleteSo it looking like the nect winter won’t be as bad as the previous for LJU. New Manchester, Tirana and Las Palmas services are nice additions even though the are one or two weekly. Now lets just hope that another UK route gets added as there were some speculations and that other carriers such as British, Aegean and AirBaltic keep the year round flights as they cancelled them for the previous winter.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how many posts from Ljubljana Airport will this Manchester flights get compared to DUS ones...both LLCs and both routes were wished for from travelers
ReplyDeleteThis winter Ljubljana will now get more routes than it did this summer... what is happening?
ReplyDeleteAirlines have a lot more capacity this winter than they did last year. Same with summer, it's just that there are far more lucrative markets which have a higher priority than LJU.
DeleteNow just Wizzair to LTN and UK is almost covered
ReplyDeleteNice one. Very happy with these new routes.
ReplyDeleteZasto ne MAN-BEG?
ReplyDeleteIt's probably hard to fill A320 on that market. Which only means JU has more potential on the route with E95 plus connecting passengers from the network.
DeleteDoesn't U2 have A319?
DeleteIf U2 can fill a neo from MAN to LJU they can certainly do it in BEG too.
DeleteThree new routes for Ljubljana this winter so far. Not too bad!
ReplyDeleteSo annoying that BEG is getting routes already served by other competitors, while so many unserved still waiting. After Guangzhou, we got Nice, Geneva and now CDG
ReplyDeleteMislim da se BEG-CDG neće ni desiti. JU će Ponedeljkom i Petkom dampingovsti cene i uništiće ih. Dajem im rok do kraja Avgusta da otkažu letove.
ReplyDeleteIt would be better if they launched MAN or LGW but this route could work.
@ Nemjee
Ma koja konkurencija?? Dva nedeljno leta, prema dva dnevno, vervovarno uskoro i sva tri. To je kap u moru, statisticka greska
DeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteWould be this a seasonal flight or a year-round?
ReplyDeleteIt will be year round
DeleteEasyJet should launch routes that are ignored by JU, as Manchester and Dublin. There is another possibility to launch flights and add more frequencies to LIS, OPO, BOD, PMI, BRS, EDI, LPL...
ReplyDelete+100
DeleteEasyJet answer for Geneve to Air Serbia
ReplyDeleteBrilliant news for us in Manchester but we still need a direct service to BEG, I read somewhere (think here) that Manchester is one of the largest unserved destinations out of BEG.
ReplyDelete@Admin - Please check the timing of the return flight to CDG as it doesn't correspond to the arrival time to BEG. Thanks
ReplyDeleteThe times are correct and correspond to each other.
DeleteLooks like that one guy that was always asking here for Maribor-Blackpool route will now be happy.
ReplyDeleteGreat news - for us MUFC fans and both MCFC supporters :P
ReplyDeletejust got info could be that even more routes will be announced ... if they manage to close the deal. hopefully the will be successful!
ReplyDeleteKafič info?
