NEWS FLASH
KLM will reduce frequencies on its flights between Amsterdam and Split over the coming winter season, which begins on October 26 and runs until March 28. The SkyTeam member plans to run one weekly rotation between the two cities, on Saturdays, down from three weekly over the previous winter. The carrier will primarily deploy its Embraer E195 E2 aircraft on the route over the winter period, with six rotations currently scheduled on the E190. Changes remain possible.
How is this ok?
ReplyDeleteOne weekly is pretty awkward, surprised they didn't go 2-weekly and cut back to an E190 instead but aye, hopefully the situation improves next year
ReplyDeletemaybe it's because there's an enormous difference in capacity between once weekly E95-E2 and twice weekly E90?!
DeleteJU should launch winter flights to SPU
ReplyDeleteThis piece of news actually proves very well that JU should not open SPU during the winter as there is absolutely no demand for it.
DeleteKL with much wider network is the best possible example for it.
That is not true actually. JU’s ATR is profitable just above 50% LF, so 3pw should not be too hard to achieve. Especially regarding this KL cuts
DeleteTerrible news for SPU flyers 😔 This practically removes AF/KL from the equation for business and VFR travel, leaving us at the mercy of the LH/OU cartel.
ReplyDeleteConspiracy theories!
DeleteYou do realise KL and OU code share?
DeleteSo what if they codeshare? I was previously able to fly SPU-AMS-anywhere in Europe, now I have to go through ZAG or one of the LH hubs. Less choice = higher prices.
DeleteConspiracy? I believe he was stating an observation/pointing out a fact, not a “theory”. A theory would be that it was done on purpose. Simply stating the obvious isn’t a “theory”. Aj, moj Balkan.
DeleteSplit is really empty in winter months until the season starts. I was there in January it looked really dead.
ReplyDeleteTrue. But its still the capital of relatively large region of Croatia. It must be one of the most poorly connected parts of the Balkans during winter.
