NEWS FLASH

Sky Alps has prematurely concluded operations on two of its six seasonal routes from Mostar, discontinuing services to Naples and Munich nearly six weeks ahead of schedule. The decision is believed to be driven by low demand. The Italian regional carrier continues to operate flights from Mostar to Bari, Bergamo, Palermo and Rome Fiumicino, which are scheduled to run until mid-October. The airline maintains its Mostar network with a mix of Dash 8 turboprops and a wet-leased Embraer E195 aircraft from Marathon Airlines.

That is literally what 90% of all airlines do if a route is performing as bad as OMO-NAP

I hate it but it's not illegal nor exclusive only for Italian carriers. Air Serbia scrapped Zurich from Niš faster. If it doesn't work, the company will invest only if sees huge benefit in the longer run... And SkyAlps is not after longer run at all, I think.

They have success in their home market of Bolzano, there was probs just not enough demand on these routes. Palermo seems to be performing acceptably

SkyAlps actually owns Bolzano airport (or their owner does)

Why? Why does one rogue pilot mean the company should never be used?

With that logic, no one should ever fly on MH or AA. Talking nonsense.

Not to mention Aeroflot where a pilot let his son fly a plane..

Marathon has had one non lethal accident caused by a very controversial pilot decision.
I have not seen anything from the inquiry or authorities that would point thre airline management as the cause of the accident .
So Marathon is a standard airline like many others.
