NEWS FLASH

Air France-KLM's low cost subsidiary Transavia, which currently serves the Croatian, Slovenian, Macedonian and Montenegrin markets in the former Yugoslavia, has introduced a new ticket resale scheme designed to give passengers more flexibility when travel plans change. Launched in July, the initiative allows customers to list unwanted tickets directly on Transavia’s website or app, up to an hour before departure. If the seat is resold, the original ticket holder is guaranteed a refund of the airport taxes, with the possibility of receiving up to half of the original fare. Refunds are issued securely through the same payment method used for the booking. All tickets are eligible for resale, except those purchased within twelve hours of departure or within 72 hours of arrival. Passengers can also choose to resell just one leg of a journey or the entire booking.

The resale process mirrors a similar platform already offered by France’s rail operator SNCF. Transavia illustrated the benefits with the example of a Paris - Faro flight, where three tickets worth 633 euros were refunded 316.50 euros after being successfully resold twenty days before departure.

I mean, good, but their parent company KLM was very generous usually with just refunding that part of the ticket if you did not want to travel anymore. I thought they would give the entirety of the fee back!

Can someone please explain what this means:
"All tickets are eligible for resale, except those purchased within twelve hours of departure or within 72 hours of arrival."

It means all but not all. Like some are more eligible than others or in this case not eligible at all.
If you buy your ticket 12 hours before departure then you can't resell it. Or if your day of arrival is in 3 days. Can't sell those too.
      Hope this helps.
