The number of commercial aircraft movements grew 2.2%. Over the first three quarters of the year, the airport welcomed 6.799.521 travellers through its doors, an improvement of 5.8%. Greece, Italy, Germany and Spain proved to be the airport's fastest-growing markets. The airport is expected to see continued growth throughout October, with scheduled seat capacity currently up 10%.

Way to go BEG!!! October should be about 850k hopefully
ReplyDeleteVery good performance by BEG. Let's hope this trend continues into the winter. I wonder if we might hit 9 million this year.
ReplyDeleteIf I remember correctly, JU grew 0.8% in September while BEG grew 5.9%. Foreign carriers seems to be doing quite well over here.
Wizz 200 000 pax with 10-12 (one way) daily flights really bravo👌
ReplyDeleteThose A321neos are really doing a great job for them. They are really moving the Serbian market!
Delete+ 50% of passengers in JU are transfers.
DeleteWhy put JU in Wizz comments :D
DeleteBravo BEG!
ReplyDeleteBravo Belgrade. Hug from Zagreb.
ReplyDeleteNot bad at all. All airlines obviously had better load factor. If they continue to have 6% growth, we wont see 9m passengers this year. Good luck BEG and grow 10% in following months so we can see 9m passengers.
ReplyDeleteLufthansa is really growing nicely in BEG. They are a reliable and convenient option for many.
ReplyDeleteI recently flew with Lufthansa via Frankfurt. Transfers are not fun, security checks are painfully slow, lines are long and shades of grey design is cold and uninviting. The ONLY reason I took that option was Air Serbia doesn't fly to my destination.
DeleteI flew BEG-FRA-BLQ last Sunday and it was generally ok. Security was indeed the worst part. We waited around 20 minutes.
DeleteAs someone who has been flying through FRA for the past 20 years, I have to admit that they did fix it. It's much better now with a lot more options. Some 5 to 10 years ago this was not the case. For an airport of that size, they do a much better job this year.
Mind you, they opened a Bavarian restaurant with great views of the parallel runways.
FRA-BLQ was operated by Air Dolomiti and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by how nice they are. Much better than Lufthansa.
On the way back I flew BLQ-VIE-BEG and our first leg was on an E95 with no more than 40 passengers onboard. The A320 to BEG was around 70% which isn't bad for a Tuesday night. We were slightly delayed as we waited for 21 passengers from the OS Berlin flight.
BEG and the Ministry of Interior should really get their act together and fix those electronic passport machines. They are becoming a nightmare. When I was leaving half of them malfunctioned and people struggled to pass through. On the way back only a few of them were actually operational.
I can't really feel sorry for you because despite direct flights to BLQ, you were flying via FRA.
DeleteWhy do you have to wait on security in FRA if BEG belongs to OSS group (one stop security)?
DeleteI avoid German airports at any cost. I think we are spoiled with BEG efficiency and easy navigation.

DeleteWhy would you feel sorry for me? And I didn't fly on JU because I was returning back to Belgrade on Tuesday. JU does fly to BLQ on Tuesdays. Lufthansa Group offered a great connection so there was no loss.
Actually it's good I did not fly on JU on Sunday because their BLQ flight was late by, I think, some 2 hours.

DeleteNo idea. Also when entering the terminal building we were greeted by policemen who were checking our passports.
The security control was when we were going to the gates from which Air Dolomiti flies. We were bused to the plane.

DeleteOk, I can understand why someone would avoid FRA but why MUC?
Anon 8:00 "Why do you have to wait on security in FRA if BEG belongs to OSS group (one stop security)?"
DeleteMy trip didn't originate from BEG, it was transatlantic on Lufthansa JV partner. FRA airport put our widebody on a remote stand, LOL. Only one out of four workstations for manual security checks of cabing bags was in operations. German efficiency LOL.
Arguably in 2 years we could see June-September period with t least 1mil each month
