NEWS FLASH
Wizz Air, which is reopening its Tuzla base this December, is adding another new route to the already nine new services previously announced. The carrier will commence flights to Bratislava from March 29. The service will effectively act as a replacement for the Tuzla - Vienna service which is being discontinued at the end of this month due to the phased closure of the airline’s base in the Austrian capital. Operations to Bratislava will be maintained four times per week. Further flight details can be found here.
Similarly, the carrier is also launching flights between Ohrid and Bratislava, in lieu of Vienna. Services will commence on March 17, operating three times per week. The last flight to the Austrian capital is scheduled for March 14. Further details can be found here. This will complement the launch of the previously announced new routes from Ohrid to Milan, Wroclaw and Katowice, launching next summer.
In Pristina, the four weekly Bratislava service will also launch on March 17. Additional flight information can be found here.
Makes sense considering they are closing Vienna.
ReplyDeleteTIA too
DeleteBut Vienna is already being flown from the Tuzla base, why introduce Bratislava? It would make sense from Sarajevo to serve as a LCC option for travelers that don't want to or can't afford Austrian.

Wizz isn't leaving Vienna because it's expensive to base an aircraft there. It's leaving because it's expensive to FLY there

A nightmare for those who have a car though!
For those who rely on public transport, Wizz expects they go to Bratislava one day in advance and stroll the city literally until runrise LOL
Trains to Bratislava run through the night
Delete@15:49 Not at night. First Train arriving to Bratislava (city) is at 06:40.
DeleteEven in Vienna it is tricky to get to the Airport by Train if your flight departs at 0600.
First trains start running at around 04:30 - depending what district you live in.
There will be flights departing every day before 7am...
Delete16:20 You're incorrect, there are trains every hour from midnight to six AM, check ÖBB or Trainline
DeleteHappy to see that OHD get solution for the VIE leaving , probably in summer it will go to 4x weekly👍
