NEWS FLASH
Air Montenegro plans to add another Embraer E195 to its fleet under a dry-lease arrangement, with the aircraft expected to arrive by late June 2026. It will join the airline’s two owned E195s, as well as the dry-leased 4O-AOE, which entered service this summer on a three-year contract. The airline confirmed that the fourth E195 will not be the former Montenegro Airlines jet registered 4O-AOC, which has been grounded in Podgorica for the past five years.
Commenting on its fleet, Air Montenegro’s CEO, Vuk Stojanović, said, “The aircraft registered 4O-AOE has proven to be exceptionally good and reliable. The company’s management is conducting analyses that may show it is cost-effective to purchase the aircraft from its owner. However, no such proposal has been finalised yet, as additional comparisons with the prices of other available aircraft are necessary. Any proposal, if it materialises, must be approved by the Board of Directors and the government as the owner. Owning the aircraft is the most cost-efficient option, but there are other factors that must be taken into account when making major decisions such as the purchase of an aircraft. The current engine life on 4O-AOE guarantees another three years of operation for one engine and five years for the other. Since engines are renewable components, with the required investment this aircraft could operate for Air Montenegro for the next eight to ten years".

I wonder if they will also wet lease a plane next year.
ReplyDeleteWell, unless something changes they will have some free capacity from the drop in demand to Turkey.
DeleteI flew BEG-TGD-BEG yesterday and several flights to Istanbul were cancelled while the evening flight to IST on the A321 had maybe 60 passengers onboard.
That said, the TK flight last night tried to land three times but each time if failed due to bad really, really bad weather. In the end they gave up and returned to IST.
Meanwhile our JU A320 landed straight away without any problems. Kudos to JU! Our pilot was older so I guess experience played a role.
Will they hire cabin crew?
