NEWS FLASH

Austrian Airlines will begin a new seasonal service between Vienna and Ohrid in 2026. The carrier will launch flights between the two cities on Sunday May 17, with the service initially operating weekly, before increasing to two weekly on July 9. The carrier will deploy its Airbus A320 aircraft on the route. Flights will conclude on September 27. Further details are available here. The development comes after Wizz Air announced plans to discontinue flights between Vienna and Ohrid due to the upcoming closure of its base in the Austrian capital. It will launch flights from Bratislava to Ohrid in 2026 instead. Austrian Airlines becomes the latest flag carrier to commence operations to Ohrid, following Turkish Airlines' seasonal launch this year.

In a realistic and smart universe an@12:38.

      2 flights with A320 x 180 seats = 360 seats a week.
      3 flights with embraer x 120 seats = 360 seats a week.

Seat capacity is the same, just more choice to the customers.

This is not going to work. Roundtrip ticket for June is almost 400 euros. With that money you can go with car from Vienna to Ohrid twice. Everyone will use BTS-OHD now cause it will be cheaper. If OS wants to make this work then a roundtrip ticket should not be more than 100 euros, even that would be expensive for some people when they will see BTS-OHD flights for half of that price.

Yeah but with OS you can also get transfer passangers. It's not exclusive P2P traffic.

Air Serbia is doing that. Many times you can find cheap resonable prices for Turkish Airlines as well, British Airways, Air Baltic, ITA. OS is almost always expensive for dirrect traffic. Nobody is going to pay that much for one ticket. Even Croatia Airlines have better prices then this one.

they try to explain to you that its the first day these flights are put in the system, there are not even proper transfer options available to book yet but you have come to the big conclusion already. Go ring the Austrian Airlines number and tell them!!

and guess what its already not 400€ anymore ...

Every flag carrier tickets are expensive , one way to IST from SKP is 150 eur , you cannot compare low cost carrier with this, they are good only for P2P people but not for transfers. OHD deserves those flights and hopefully more will come!!!
