Turkish Airlines will reduce frequencies on its Istanbul - Podgorica service following Montenegro’s suspension of visa-free entry for Turkish nationals. From November 17, the carrier will run two daily flights (fourteen weekly rotations) instead of the previously planned eighteen weekly services. The reduction is currently filed until January 1, although further adjustments are possible. During the week of November 24 - 30, Turkish Airlines will further cut capacity, with only ten weekly flights scheduled, instead of eighteen. Last week, Pegasus Airlines suspended two of its three Podgorica routes.
That's not a huge reduction.
ReplyDeleteWith the suppression of the visa exemption for Turkish citizen I would have not be surprised by a reduction to one daily.

DeleteYes, I wouldn't be surprised if they cut some more. Double daily in this climate is quite a lot of capacity.
DeleteThis will make JU and BEG a lot more competitive for flights to Russia.
After new year they will reduce to 1 daily and worst case scenario is to terminates the route , which could happend in future. This is just begginig ....

DeleteМислим да се то односи на тврдње да многи из Црне Горе лете из Тиране. Нешто не верујем да се то односи на летове ка Турској, пре је то случај за Европу.
DeleteSigurno ih ima iz Ulcinja nekoliko, i to kao sto kazete za Evropu. Medjutim, ne vjerujem da iko od Crnogoraca leti za Tursku iz Tirane.
DeleteVjerujem da npr. ima ljudi iz LJU ili ZAG da idu jedni drugima, Hrvata koji lete za JFK preko BEG itd.
Ali ovo za Tursku ne vjerujem, jer kompanije turske lete ama skoro iz svakog sela EX-Yu. :)

DeleteI dont think that there are pax flying to Turkey from Tirana ( from Montenegro ). People use TIA for europian flights, especially Bari, Barcelona, Madrid, even Rome altough two airlines already operate that routew from TGD.
DeleteThe losts in a long term will be huge , this is just a start of what comes next , dont be surprised if they terminates the route next year....
ReplyDeleteCould Aegean step in and offer these MENA connections? big opportunity for them as they have a big MENA network (recently they announced flights to Baghdad the first European carrier to do so).
