Wizz Air will restore flights between London Luton and Sarajevo next summer season. The service, formerly year-round, was halted in September without a clear indication if it would resume in 2026. The airline now plans to restore flights between the two capitals on March 31, operating twice per week on Tuesdays and Saturdays, until the end of the 2026 summer season in late October. During the 2024/25 winter, the budget carrier maintained four weekly flights on the route. Wizz Air’s London service benefited from subsidies awarded by the Tourism Association of the Canton of Sarajevo, which led to an increase in operations over the past two years.
During the January - August period, Wizz Air handled 32.787 passengers on the Luton - Sarajevo service. Its average cabin load factor for the eight-month period stood at 71.5%. On the other hand, Ryanair welcomed 30.517 travellers on its Stansted - Sarajevo route, with an average cabin load factor of 85.9%.

DeleteBosnia should unite and establish an airline. Four airports and 4 million population is enough for some small airline with 10ish ATRs and Embraers, as well as few Airbuses A320.

DeleteMaintain planes , infrastructure , engineers , pilots , cabin crew , parts , all this is a huge money and investment. Big countries and economicly strong can afford this , but smaller countries cannot.

Remove those from Serbia who came to Montenegro by train to Sutomore and Bar and you can make your conclusion.
touristic potential is already covered with Gulf flights and pilgrimage packages. the rest is diaspora routes.

DeletePeople doing day trips from Croatia aren't even registered in these numbers plus the grey economy in Bosnia itself. Most of the tourists are there because of Bosnia itself and its unmatched Natural Beauty.
