NEWS FLASH
Wizz Air will restore flights between London Luton and Sarajevo next summer season. The service, formerly year-round, was halted in September without a clear indication if it would resume in 2026. The airline now plans to restore flights between the two capitals on March 31, operating twice per week on Tuesdays and Saturdays, until the end of the 2026 summer season in late October. During the 2024/25 winter, the budget carrier maintained four weekly flights on the route. Wizz Air’s London service benefited from subsidies awarded by the Tourism Association of the Canton of Sarajevo, which led to an increase in operations over the past two years.
During the January - August period, Wizz Air handled 32.787 passengers on the Luton - Sarajevo service. Its average cabin load factor for the eight-month period stood at 71.5%. On the other hand, Ryanair welcomed 30.517 travellers on its Stansted - Sarajevo route, with an average cabin load factor of 85.9%.

Poor LF
ReplyDeleteWhich is why it's reduced from 4 to 2 weekly now and should be 85-90%
DeleteThis is basically a seasonal flight start in early April until end of Octomber ...
DeleteWhat do you mean "basically"? It is the definition of a seasonal route.
DeleteYes it is not year round , I thought it is , but since I read all article I realise it is seasonal flight
DeleteWhen they will start service from Sarajevo to any airport in UAE
DeleteUAE is already covered from other airlines , no space for W6 for middle east
DeleteDa, kod Wizz Air . Ali, kod Ryanair je dobar
ReplyDeleteCould they bring back LJU - LTN?
ReplyDeleteWizz Air:
ReplyDeleteLTN-SJJ is on, LTN-SJJ is off, LTN-SJJ is on, LTN-SJJ is off, LTN-SJJ is on...
What a weird airline.
Next year they will announce cut again , believe me in this
DeleteLHR flights by British Airways would be the best thing, if SJJ could get those. It would for sure work, so many possible connections.
ReplyDeleteit didnt work for much bigger exyu markets
DeleteExactly , and this Wizz launch is seasonal , it is not year round , that says enough
DeleteBritish Airways pulled out of Belgrade and you expect it to fly to Sarajevo?
DeleteI dont uderstand why people dreaming about flag carriers when they dont serve much bigger airprots and markets , clear example is BEG
Deletelast week they pulled out of Stuttgart, one of the richest parts of Germany
Delete@15:54 Markets with own airline carriers. BiH doesn't have such one. LHR by British Airways would work for:
Delete1. British tourists
2. Overseas connections
3. Northern Europe connections, including Scandinavia.
If this was not funny than its tragic
ReplyDeleteBetter something than nothing. Its a business whose job is to make profit. Nothing tragic about that.
ReplyDeleteWell for a low cost carrier as Wizz LF 71% its not pretty much good business and profit .... but as they get government money for the route they dont care
DeleteBosnia should unite and establish an airline. Four airports and 4 million population is enough for some small airline with 10ish ATRs and Embraers, as well as few Airbuses A320.
ReplyDeleteLol
DeleteVery good plan , but no money for that
DeleteBosnia should unite. Big truth. It would be good for many many more fields, not just aviation. But not happening, too many particular interests, and not on the Balkans only
DeleteMaintain planes , infrastructure , engineers , pilots , cabin crew , parts , all this is a huge money and investment. Big countries and economicly strong can afford this , but smaller countries cannot.
DeleteIf Montenegro can afford it then Bosnia can too
DeleteMontenegro has a sea and strong summer season , Bosnia doesnt have, do not compare country who is on sea with a tourists with country thay did not have sea
DeleteFYI - Bosnia does have sea FYI - ridiculous 20 km but it does. Let's not even talk about Sarajevo and Mostar touristic potential
Delete2024, number of tourist, official statistics:
DeleteMNE - 2,6mil.
BIH - 1,9mil.
Remove those from Serbia who came to Montenegro by train to Sutomore and Bar and you can make your conclusion.
touristic potential is already covered with Gulf flights and pilgrimage packages. the rest is diaspora routes.
Delete@19.20 the majority of non Middle East BIH tourists are visiting it as a sidetrip from Croatia
DeletePeople doing day trips from Croatia aren't even registered in these numbers plus the grey economy in Bosnia itself. Most of the tourists are there because of Bosnia itself and its unmatched Natural Beauty.
DeleteState owned airline in Bosnia!?!? Did you even read articles about Bosnia in the last 30 years, because I am sure that you were not visiting?
DeleteWizz is launching back a route that stood at 71% LF , this smells on something , we know what is that , getting subsidies from country so why not to lauch it back :))))
ReplyDeleteIt is also a desperate airline.
DeleteAirline who cares about profit nothing else , if they feel they can get subsided route they will launch , evem like this with bad LF , Ryanair on other side , but the main goal for them are the government money!!
Deleteyou cannot run a route only on subs if you have not enough pax
DeleteThe subs are clear profit for the airline , plus the ticket prices ...
DeletePlease re open the service between abudhabi to sarajevo
ReplyDeleteWhy wiz air re- start a service from Sarajevo to any airport in UAE or Oman
ReplyDeleteWhy wiz air re- start a service from Sarajevo to any airport in UAE or Oman
ReplyDeleteSarajevo airport contact British Airways.
ReplyDeleteThey would not answer the call i'm afraid. And it doesnt quite work like that
