NEWS FLASH
Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport welcomed 105.623 passengers through its doors in November, representing an increase of 17.5% year-over-year. It came on the back of an 8.9% increase in aircraft movements, totalling 1.790. While the figures are a significant improvement of 23.1% on November 2019, which came in the aftermath of Adria Airways’ collapse, passenger numbers are still 10.1% below 2018 levels. During the January - November period, Ljubljana Airport handled 1.489.640 travellers, up 10.1%, or an additional 136.899 customers. Strong growth is expected to continue into December, with current seat capacity levels on scheduled flights up 20.2%.

Some great growth in November too. I see that from the new routes Barcelona is doing amazing, hopefully MAN and LPA as well.
ReplyDeleteLPA is full most of the times, while MAN is getting there, varies from 50% to 95%
DeleteGreat for LPA, for MAN i see they scheduled it for next winter, so I guess they are optimistic in the route
DeleteYes, i think MAN is a matter of maturity, not the lack of demand. If they adjusted the schedule a bit to avoid 6am flights, it would be great
DeleteThe next year could be huge for Lju. Klm adding another daily rotation, new connections to Edinburgh, Istanbul Saw and Podgorica with Wizz, also increases in weekly flights for Finnair British and Aegean, more capacity on Iberia and Lufthansa flights, also new additions from this winter including Manchester and Barcelona and possibly another Easyjet destination…could we see 2 million passengers for Lju next year?
ReplyDeleteFor 2 million, we would need scheduled Greek/Spain island fligths, which will only happen with either Easy or Wizz
DeleteWe also waiting for Wizz add more flights to Skopje in summer. Would be great if they flight daily on this route. When Air Montenegro add Tivat and Podgorica, Vuelig Barcelona in summer time table, and if Esay open new destination we will have to 2,2 milion availbe seat next year. With sam LF like this year I expect 1,9 milion passenger in 2026.
DeleteDoes anyone have any news on when the new easyJet route could be announced?
ReplyDeleteProbably by the end of the year, let's hope it's not just Berlin... But even that would be ofc great
DeleteDo we know if its BER?
DeleteWith recent developments I also see them launching something more, if not this year then next one for sure. I am also still hopeful for the introduction of Antalya flights by Pegasus.
DeletePegasus will fly to Antalya? Is it already announced?
DeleteThey won't. Someone made it up.
DeleteSomeone hinted that Peg is working on it, but nothing official.
DeleteThey concluded that from social media person putting eye emoji when someone asked them. It's not serious.
DeleteIt's not only from social media posts. One person commented "Pegasus is looking for Antalya flights, but nothin is 100% yet" on a recent article. Someone correctly predicted easyJet expansion before but we don't know if this is the same person.
DeleteI think the biggest getaway is the lack of Antalya connecting flights. They fly the SAW-AYT route 6-8 times daily
DeleteAntalya connections are now available, so that hint sadly goes out of the window. I guess they were reading our comments 😂
DeleteOhhhhh, well at least Fraport aren't the only ones fixing their mistakes reported on here
DeleteLjubljana has marketing problem on top of everything else.
ReplyDeleteNot a single post mentioning Pegasus, and its a month away, on their website, Pegasus is missing, and they announced Barcelona increase in summer while Barcelona isn't even on sale for summer yet...
Next year 1.750.000 pax is a possibility, but they need to get a grip and stop marketing sweet shops instead of flights
The possibility of BCN not flying in the summer is crazy to me, for sure they have to upload the flights sooner than later, but I agree, their marketing team doesnt have a clue at whats happening.
DeleteJudging by how great the sales are, I think anything below 4x weekly in summer would be a dissapointment. But you never know....
DeleteThe fact that they didn't put out a Press release about SAW flights is insane to me...
DeleteBravo Fraport!
DeleteIt's actually funny seeing aviations news in slovenian media. Forbes gets their news from ExYu, so they are usually the first one, and the rest just copy the official Fraport press release without anything to add. That's why only Forbes reported Pegasus flights
DeleteNot even Sierra5 reported the news... seems like drones and air taxis are more interesting.
DeleteS5 changed their admins for sure, left sided news for a year now, with no critical thinking we saw before
DeleteTHEY ADDED PEGASUS, BUT THE OLD LOGO hahahha
DeleteYou can’t make this stuff up haha. Has the marketing team ever even flown in a plane?
DeleteI agree with everything regarding Sierra5 and Fraport’s marketing, and am very happy someone else noticed all of this too!
DeleteI just love it when LJU sees strong November growth!
ReplyDeleteFirst time after a while we got above 100k in November!
DeleteWill Trieste be busier at the end of the year, does anyone have the numbers?
DeleteTrieste is projected to 1.600.000 till the end of this year. It's growing a lot last year's. Can be busier than Ljubljana for the first time?
DeleteCongratulations for beautiful Ljubljana from neighbouring Zagreb! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you :) and congratulations to ZAG for your numbers.
Deleteshame first 3 months were below last year ... but ok, probably we will have 9 out of 12 above 100k ...
