NEWS FLASH
Podgorica Airport handled 1.751.850 passengers in 2025, representing a slight decrease of 0.3%. The airport’s figures were impacted by two developments. The first was a significant cut in operations by Ryanair, which influenced numbers throughout the year but in particularly the first quarter. Its capacity levels were reduced 22.2% year-on-year. Figures during the last quarter of the year were impacted by a decline in passengers from Turkey following the temporary introduction of visa requirements for Turkish nationals which has since been lifted. Overall, Podgorica Airport lost 5.572 passengers on the previous year. Wizz Air has the largest share of capacity at the airport, while Podgorica’s most common aircraft type was the Embraer E195. The Montenegrin capital was most connected to Belgrade, followed by Istanbul IST, Vienna and Warsaw. The airport is set for strong growth in 2026 with Wizz Air to open a two-aircraft base and launch fifteen new routes.
