NEWS FLASH

Japan Airlines (JAL) has expanded its presence onto the Serbian and Croatian markets by adding its flight numbers and designator code onto Qatar Airways’ flights between Doha, Belgrade and Zagreb. JAL maintains a daily service between Tokyo Haneda and Doha, which connects onto the morning outbound departures from the Qatari capital to both Belgrade and Zagreb.

There are now six codeshare partners on Qatar Airways’ service to the Serbian capital including Malaysia Airlines, Air Serbia, SriLankan Airlines, Virgin Australia and RwandAir, in addition to JAL. The Zagreb flights are codeshared by five partners, including Cathay Pacific, Malaysia Airlines, Virgin Australia and Oman Air, in addition to JAL.

Once upon a time Japanese carriers were interested in flying to ZAG. But no one engaged them and they lost interest.

There were intensive talks a few years ago about Japanese airlines launching flights to Zagreb. But both the airport and government have lost interest in developing long haul travel from ZAG.

So you want to say that Japanese lost interest in making profit because of Croatian government 🤣? Sure man.

Lack of interest and support from the government and airport. Yes. Since you don't know how business works you just keep laughing and be the proud internet warrior you are.

So multimillion dollars corporations don't want to fly to the destination because there is lack of support from the government? Sure man. You must be a big aviation expert like everyone is here.

What we know for sure is that you are an idiot :) Zagreb has done a phenomenal job with long haul operations. From Emirates, Korean and Air Canada it now has a Korean and Canadian LCC flying few months a year. They are doing a fantastic job. Cheer them on.

While you are cheering you can also cheer the 0 new routes at the airport this year. The louder you cheer the happier they will be that they are doing phenomenally.

Every DIRECT flight mean LESS passengers on TRANSFER flights. Croatian air market is surrendered to LHG through TRANSFER flights. That's why OU is not interested in becoming real airline and having real hub in ZAG. That's why ZAG and "government" (read:Mafia) are not interested in new legacy and especially long-haul connections. As simple as that.

      Sure man 🤣
Everything is a conspiracy against big potentials of Zagreb! I suppose there was also some kind of Lufthansa conspiracy against British operations do that's why they don't fly year round to ZAG anymore.
