NEWS FLASH
Lufthansa has completed the retrofit of the first of 38 Airbus A320 aircraft, which will be deployed on intra-European services. Last year, the carrier utilised the A320 on 49% of all its operations to markets in the former Yugoslavia.
The retrofitted aircraft feature new ergonomically designed seats from manufacturer Geven, as well as significantly larger overhead bins, USB ports at every seat, as well as tablet and smartphone holders. The new seats include horizontally adjustable headrests and, in business class, a backrest that reclines further. The new cabin is equipped with overhead bins that are 40% larger and offer space for more carry-on suitcases or bags. Baggage can now be stowed vertically. Every seat receives its own USB-A and USB-C port, allowing mobile devices to be charged. In addition, all seats are equipped with a holder for tablets and smartphones.
The first retrofitted A320, registered D-AIZY, is now back in scheduled service. Each aircraft conversion takes about thirty days and involves installing roughly 1.000 components sourced from about 100 suppliers.

The seats dont look that bad but judging by the photos, the legroom looks pretty tight
ReplyDeleteGuys, I was looking at some tickets to PEK and when I checked LH it seems that they no longer offer the cheapest fare with only hand luggage. Did they change something? I know that before you had to pay extra for hand luggage with the lowest fare?
ReplyDeleteLufthansa seems to be moving away from the LCC model.
Sometimes they remove one fare class depending on flight. Austrian and Eurowings does the same sometimes
DeleteMaybe because cheaper fares are not rentable to them, since it takes them one hour longer than before the closure of the Russian Airspace.
DeleteBecause of this they scrapped FRA-PEK in 2024 (and are def. not returning in summer 2026) and now they only offer MUC-PEK 7x and guess have to make sure they earn as much as they can on these flights.
The USB ports are huge, they were an obvious lacking on their older jets.
ReplyDeleteSmart decision by LH. You do not need to get brand new NEOs to improve the cabin experience.
ReplyDeleteAnd they are also installing Starlink internet access on all the LHG aircraft!
I wish JU would do the same.

DeleteAir Serbia read and watch what others are doing. Your cabins are still in the 20th century across the entire fleet.
ReplyDeleteStandardization of the cabin experience is needed for sure!
Delete37 out of 38 LH A320 are still in the 20th century, only one has been upgraded so far.
DeleteSo? They started the process while Marek hasn't even started considering it.
DeleteHow many would be in a year from now?
DeleteAnd when will the JU fleet be joining the 21st century?
Waiting, waiting, waiting...
How do you manage to turn every topic about JU? Get a life.
DeleteBecause JU is aiming to be a serious player and this is an ex-Yu forum, and JU is from ex-Yu?
DeleteThis topic is comoletely unrelated to JU. You have an unhelathy obsession.
DeleteRead the text which mentions LH sending these planes to the region, BEG included. Who operates in the region? JU.
DeleteAlso if you flew on JU then you would know they are in desperate need of a cabin fix.
@15:34 "They started the process while Marek hasn't even started considering it."
DeleteJust the fact you claim to know what is he considering should be deeply disturbing. It should be disturbing for you, not me, I simply recognized your fetilizing pattern.
JU is more profitable per passenger than LH. Just saying.
ReplyDeleteAs long as they still use the same seats in business as in economy and then just leave the middle seat free, I (and many more who can choose and can afford whom to fly with) am not going to choose LH over TK just because "the seat reclines a little bit more".
