TRIP REPORT
I will try and keep this one nice and short. A pleasant midday flight from Skopje to Vienna with Austrian Airlines.
Check-in formalities at Skopje Airport were straightforward and security processing was quick. The lounge (Primeclass) offering in Skopje is modest in scale but functional. A compact space with a handful of seating clusters, self-service beverages and light snacks. There are also two hot food choices. On this occasion it was beef goulash with rice. There is also a bar area. While not extensive, it provided a quiet and uncrowded environment. You can get a limited-view of the runway and Gates 203 and 204 from the lounge.
Today’s flight was operated by OE-LWB, an Embraer 195. The Embraer 195’s 2-2 configuration remains one of the most passenger-friendly layouts in short-haul European flying.
Boarding was completed efficiently, and doors were closed on schedule. Load factor appeared solid, though not completely full. Pushback was punctual, followed by a smooth taxi and departure from Runway 34.
With a block time of 1 hour and 25 minutes crew worked efficiently.
The flight coincided with Austria’s National Day, and catering reflected the occasion. Austrian’s long-standing partnership with DO & CO was on display with a festive meal service: Wiener Schnitzel accompanied by potatoes, followed by a slice of Sachertorte. For a short intra-European sector, the offering was very good.
We arrived on time and were parked on a remote stand. Bussed back to the terminal. Overall, an enjoyable flight.

ReplyDeleteThank you for the very informative report! The lounge in Skopje looks nice and the offer is good. The only time I used a lounge was 2024 in Rome. They did not offer warm dishes...I would be happy too when seeing Schnitzel and Sacher on my plate :-)

That would be disgusting. Its bad enough smoking is allowed elsewhere indoors in North Macedonia and a few parts of th region that refuse to modernise.

Delete18:10 no indoor is not allowed for example u said post office.Only in cafeteria and some restaurants is allowed. But they prepare new law noe for banning smoking in bars and restaurants as well, hopefully they will made it!!
DeleteAlthough seeing smoking in offices is not uncommon. In cafes its more than common, its almost everywhere which is yucky.

The lounge at Skopje airport for its size is very nice, modern , efficient , as well with great choices of food and drinks as decribed by the author!

Delete17:30 mate its all about the taste. I use some lounges across world and I didnt like any meat for example. I like only our prepared meat styles in Macedonia.
DeleteBtw what was wrong with the food in Skopje explain please? If u didnt like the current food there doesnt mean is awful. I used JFK lounge I didnt like the meat, so I need to say now it is awful overall?
