NEWS FLASH
Wizz Air will introduce two new limited seasonal leisure routes from its Skopje base this summer. The carrier will commence three weekly rotations to Palermo, from July 15 until September 11, as well as two weekly services to Alghero from July 18 until September 12. Further details for the Palermo service can be found here, while additional information for the Alghero flights can be viewed here.

ReplyDeleteThis will help diversify summer vacation destinations from Skopje.
Of course , people are full from Antalya and Hurghada , we need new and more options like this for the summer months... finally something new
DeleteJust under 2 months?
ReplyDeleteprobably the only free capacity they have
Delete10:33 it is summer seasonal routes , something like Ajet launchdd last summer out of SKP
DeleteThat was unexpected, I wonder what the LF will look like
ReplyDeletewill look beautiful. Its summer vacations
DeleteSKP needs more of this examples for the summer peak months ,especially italian and spanish coasts
DeleteJust checked their app and saw they are launching Bergamo starting March 29 and ending Malpensa.
ReplyDeleteThis has been the case for a while.
DeleteBergamo is an airport much better suited for LCCs.
DeleteIt may be better suited for LCCs but less convenient if your final destination is Milan. BGY is far from the city though.
DeletePersonally i find BGY really an unpleasent airport to use. Very crowded seemingly all the time.
Deleteanon 11:35 Bergamo and Malpensa are almost to the kilometer equally distant from downtown Milan :D
DeleteBGY further away from Milan vs MXP is a false information. It takes way less time to get on the bus after you land in BGY rather than in MXP.
DeleteBergamo could also be sorta preemptive move .. you know who is numero uno at that airport
Deletethe good thing its 4 weekly now
With these flights, definitely 7th plane is coming to SKP
ReplyDeleteIt's kind of confirmed. They are also increasing the frequencies to a bunch of destinations from July 15th.
Deletedefinitely coming even though only for the summer peak, but sensational
Delete'Sensational' really?
Deletewho would have thought: 7 stationed aircrafts at SKP! pretty much sensational
DeleteI knew that since they posted 3.5 million seats available for Macedonia in 2026 ...
DeleteSardinia and Sicily aren't exactly the cheapest places for Macedonians to holiday.
ReplyDeleteIf the routes dont work they'll just cancel it for 2027, but its worth a shot at least.
Deletein terms of accomodation, Greece is not cheaper than Sardinia/Sicily. Greece seems cheaper because you can drive there. But, with LCC flight prices it should be affordable
DeleteSicily is actually pretty affordable
DeleteAll italian coast is much more cheaper than greece , so this route are made only for 2 months for the summer peak and they are welcomed
DeleteHonestly i dont think these routes can work. It would have been better if they launched Nice or Malaga, Valencia or something like that. I dont know if they will have 239 pax twice per week to Alghero and back.
ReplyDeleteTour operators can help this. If Antalya can sustain at given days over 1000 pax per day, Alghero can sustain 480 pax weekly. And everyone knows that in the Balkans, people will give their last money sometimes, for few likes and reactions in the social media to a post from a new place :)
Deletein summer i dont see why they wouldnt work. one ways starting at 30€
DeleteThis routes are in cooperation with tour operators and they will work as they are launched only for the summer peak not year round. Macedonia needs Italian coast , of course Spanish too
Deleteprobably. Two of the biggest polish tour agencies offer package deals with the new Wizz flights from Katow. and Wrocl.
Delete18:05 exactly thats why they launched them. The tour operator role are very important especially for the summer seasonal routes...
Deleteto that Palermo guy (with the macedonian wife) that posted here every now and then asking for this route: Its your day!
ReplyDeletecame here expecting CPH and Turku but got Palermo and Sardinia :):)
ReplyDeleteFlights to MMX become a daily service from July 15th. Maybe the route to CPH is not coming back?
Deleteits daily only for the duration of the 7th aircraft in peak summer. so chances are stil there
DeleteCPH is in talks with TAV and Nordiv operators as well Wizz air , we will see what will happend, it is route with big demand
DeleteYou dont need Malmo
DeleteAnd Copenhagen. Just take the train over
a hint that early bokings for both routes from BEG are looking good?
ReplyDeleteFinally some seasonal routes from Wizzair!
ReplyDeleteThere is lot of opportunties there (Malaga, Valencia, Nice, greek islands, Baleric islands...).
Palermo could be stretched even further
There is they will launch more routes like this for the summer seasonal in years coming
DeleteOh nice! Congrats Skopje!
ReplyDeleteNice addition sometning new and fresh
DeleteThere will be more Italian and Spanish coast cities routes out of SKP , this was the talk between Kurt and Veradi on their last meeting in Macedonia. And not all of them would be year rouund , will have routes summer peak like this :)
ReplyDeletethese routes can prove attractive also for folks south of Niš plus Pristinas rich kids
ReplyDeleteThis routes are attractive in summer peak and its good to have them :))
DeleteDon´t need to be a rich kid to be able to afford a 30 eur plane ticket....
Deletesure but you will not be staying in Sardinia at your Xhaxha's place like in Karlsruhe or St.Gallen
Delete@17:38 or any passengers from Kosovo. Skopje is a nice useful airport for many
DeleteThey should fly Croatia, there is huge demand
ReplyDeleteOk
Deleteone of Pula/Rijeka/Zadar
Deletetook them ages to convince to fly to LJU
Delete@20:05 an A321 is way to big for such routes. Dont get ahead of yourself. The North Macedonian market is tiny and there is not enough demand to make a route like Skopje-Rijeka pay. Dont forget 30e tickets are a disaster for an airlines bottom-line.
Delete@22:10 but if you include the South Macedonian Market, where Bitola and Prilep and Gevgelija is, then the East Macedonian market with Strumica and Stip, and finally the West Macedonian market with Ohrid and Tetovo, you get one big Macedonian market
Delete22.14 bravo
DeleteThe whole of what constitutes the North Macedonian market is not large enough for profitable very short a321 flights to Croatia.
Delete@21:14 1.8 million
