NEWS FLASH
Air Montenegro will resume seasonal summer flights between Tivat and Banja Luka this June following a three-year hiatus. The carrier will commence operations between the two cities on June 9, operating twice per week, on Tuesdays and Fridays, until September 25. Further flight details can be found here. In a statement, Banja Luka Airport said, “The new route promises a simpler and more convenient way to travel, particularly benefiting tourists, families and business travellers looking to save time and avoid complicated transfers. Its launch also underscores Banja Luka Airport’s commitment to improving regional connectivity and strengthening tourism infrastructure, further supporting the development of the local economy and tourism sector”. Air Montenegro previously operated between the two cities on a seasonal basis between 2021 and 2023. Banja Luka Airport becomes the first new service to be announced by the airline for the 2026 summer season.

Scheduling their first new route this summer while summer season has already begun?
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me of the way Adria Airways operated in the past. :(
DeleteGood luck
ReplyDeleteAbout bloody time! If priced and timed well it will be a successful route.
ReplyDelete4O would highly benefit owning ATR72 planes. It could connect a lot more smaller airports in the region and boost tourism in Montenegro
ReplyDeleteI asked once before, but not sure if it would make sense for AirSerbia to operate summer triangle flights Belgrade - Banjaluka - Tivat - Belgrade and the other way around. It would transport vacationers from BL to Montenegro coast. If plane not full, they could also transport those passengers who don't mind longer flight (with a stopover in Tivat) between BL and Belgrade (not sure how full or profitable the existing direct line Banjaluka - Belgrade is).
ReplyDeleteBIH is very complicated. Don't know which institution of which entity is in charge of granting traffic rights to foreign carriers. But JU cannot operate between two foreign countries without prior approval by both countries/parties involved.
Delete19:24 Air Serbia can't just start flying from Bosnia to Montenegro
DeleteYour plan doesnt sound very workable. belgrade-BL is defo not one of their money makers but i dont think this would help improve matters and just utilise an aircraft that could be used for something else.
