NEWS FLASH
The Lufthansa Group will introduce a new Economy Basic fare for select short- and medium-haul flights from next month. The fare, which will be bookable from next Tuesday for travel from May 19, will be offered across Lufthansa's flagship brand and on flights operated by Swiss, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Discover Airlines, Lufthansa City Airlines and Air Dolomiti. The new fare offers “an attractive entry-level price” and includes one personal item, such as a laptop bag or small backpack. Travellers can purchase carry-on or checked baggage as an add-on service. The airline is marketing the new fare for “day travellers”. The Economy Basic fare will be exclusively accessible through the Groups’ websites and NDC channels and will not be distributed via the Global Distribution System. With this addition, Lufthansa Group will offer four fare options in economy class.

ReplyDeleteWith this, plus constant strikes and killing of LH Cityline (=some routes in our region) they ended up on my "avoid" list... after many years being the first option to fly with.
DeleteRyanair level service but not Ryanair level reliability. And this is the luxurious airline LJU’s management sought for years to rely on. Skobir, what do you have to say for yourself??
DeleteSorry to inform you, but it is not like there are million of other airlines that would like to fly to Ljubljana.
DeleteIt's like Mercedes A220, entry level class, dilution of a brand

DeleteWizzhansa'...lol....good one. Shoulf use it. Or Ryanhansa....even better.
DeleteThey have lost any semblance of a "premium" carrier. Now it's just a race to the bottom.
ReplyDeleteThey still have (very) premium fares.

DeleteJust now Ryanair announced the closure of its BER base. They had 7 planes there.
ReplyDeleteThe closure will happen this winter and flights will be reduced by 50%.
Bravo Deutschland!!! (satelites included)
DeleteToday they informed us that they are crediting our mileage account as a thank you for sticking with them despite everything.
ReplyDeleteThank you Lufthansa!
Can you tell us more? As they wrote to me that they are awarding 100 hon/qpoints/points, not miles. Also, was any of your flights disrupted lately?
DeleteI only got 35 qualifying points - why did you get 100?
DeleteIt’s regarding the status obviously, FT, SEN,.. so did you get miles as well?
DeleteHave to agree that nowadays such names as LH and similar are getting the feel of a LC. Even perks for frequent flyers are becoming a joke
no, only got 35 points and no miles.... am a FTL.
DeleteGo woke, go broke. It's a race to the bottom for Lufthansa!
