Construction of Air Serbia’s new headquarters opposite Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport is progressing according to schedule, with works now reaching the fourth floor and the recessed top level above it. The building will have a total gross area of 7.985 square metres and will match the height of the adjacent Aviation Museum. Work is scheduled to be completed by May 15, 2027.
The development will also include landscaped green areas, as well as an open-air car park in the north-western section of the site with 140 spaces, including six designated for persons with reduced mobility. A new ring road and access street are being built alongside the complex, providing a link to the future airport rail station currently under construction.
At the same time, foundations have been laid for a planned airport hotel, also being developed by Air Serbia, while an additional business building within the complex is expected to be constructed at a later stage.

DeleteTo deal with increased traffic once you have three buildings there and the road goes directly to the train station. No need to go around into the airport complex.
DeleteFor that purpose 1 meter of pedestrian way will do better than that 4 lane road.

DeleteI have to admit, the business model from JU from the 1980s was very impressive; it was very diverse network with cargo ops, aircraft maintenance, catering, hotels, charter tours and even a radio station. By taking earnings and reinvesting it in an expanding diverse portfolio, instead of having to pay shareholders, led to continued growth. This solid foundation enabled today's company to liquidate when times were tough and to rebuild. An airport hotel is a great step forward for JU.
ReplyDeleteThey were one of the biggest, if not the biggest, "love brand" back then and back there. God forbid to call them a brand in that time, but they could sell chocolate under their name, and the sales would be great.
