NEWS FLASH

Qatar Airways has shelved plans to resume its seasonal service between Doha and Sarajevo, despite previously including the route in its revised, reduced summer 2026 schedule. Flights had been scheduled to restart on May 22, however, the airline has now halted ticket sales and removed Sarajevo from its list of planned resumptions through to September 15.

Bosnia and Herzegovina’s capital was due to return alongside several other seasonal destinations, including Bodrum, Mykonos and Trabzon, which are still expected to launch as planned. “Flight schedules are subject to change or cancellation owing to operational, regulatory, safety, or other circumstances beyond our control”, the airline said.

As reported last week, Qatar Airways has confirmed it will resume its year-round services to Zagreb and Belgrade on June 16 and June 17 respectively.

I can't possibly imagine how low the LF must be on those flights to Dubai, Doha, Bahrain...

I guess that those short hops are cheap to run and business class pays it off with economy just a bonus. Probably the departures that connect to QR network are higher in loads with with midday services emptier

They should consider opening new destinations to other cities that would actually be profitable for them

Not surprising at all. SJJ will lose a lot of income from Gulf States in 2026.

The LF on this flights are really bad , thats why they dont put the airport in prioritize launching... they keep the route not because it is strong demanding, because of political deal with Qatar

Most likely that they will return to SJJ this year. As the war is not even close to an end , smaller airports like SJJ will be more and more affected... the jet fuel crisis is yet to hit harder in the days coming as airlines using its last reserves and stocks

How will they return this year when they have just removed it from their schedule. Their temporary schedule is until 15 September. Launching this seasonal route afterwards makes no sense. I think it was only planned to operate until mid September anyway.
