Pristina Airport control tower with Wizz Air plane departing in the distance

Kosovo’s government adopted a decision yesterday to allocate two million euros to support air routes serving the diaspora. The funding is intended to help maintain or develop flights to destinations with significant expatriate communities, potentially through route subsidies, airline incentives or other forms of operational support aimed at strengthening connectivity. No further details or explanation was given for the measure.

This is either for GP to stay afloat, or for someone like Wizz to take it and base a plane or two there. Depends on what the gov connections to GP are, as it's clear by now its money laundering ops

Owning a traditional airline that sells most of the tickets online nowdays - impossible. Owning something like GP, or even worse Prishtinatickets is relatively easy. You set up local ticket shops, and every day you sell a few ghost tickets with cash. Those people aren't real or don't show up to the flight, and you get money in the company that's clean.

It's one of the most heavily regulated and cashless industries in the world, but yeah everything I don't like = money laundering

LOL They literally arrested someone for the airline ticket scheme fraud, yet some people on here claim its impossible to steal money through airline tickets. Everything is possible, especially in Kosovo

I assume it would be very easy to launder money through an airline. Open a catering or a merchandise business on the side and have the airline buy products from them at inflated prices.

I agree with the comments that’s very suspicious how they are working, last summer the route between Paris and Pristina there was no communication on that and no possibility for exemple to book by the website of gp aviation because this route didn’t exist on their site

You guys are conflating airlines with tourist agencies. You can absolutely launder money through a company like Prishtinatickets, but that's a separate issue from GP

According to finance minister, this measure is to help airlines from the price increase of jet fuel. It will be open for all carriers to apply to get money so they maintain the their current schedule or increase their flights. He did not elaborate further on how it will work. A lot is left unexplained.
