Air Serbia registered its busiest 24 hours on record by handling 22.098 passengers on Monday July 20. It surpasses the previous record set on August 1, 2025 which amounted to 21.600 travellers. The busiest regional routes on Monday were Tivat and Podgorica, while there were most passengers on Zurich and Barcelona flights in Western Europe. Larnaca, Antalya, Athens and Istanbul topped the list of busiest destinations in the Europe Mediterranean area, while New York had the most passengers on long-haul operations.

Commenting on the record, Air Serbia’s CEO, Jiri Marek, said, “We are currently at the peak of the summer season, with August, which is traditionally the busiest month for air travel, still ahead of us. That is why it is particularly significant that we have already surpassed last year’s record in July. This confirms the strong demand for Air Serbia’s flights and shows that an increasing number of passengers are choosing our airline to travel to destinations across the region, Europe and beyond”.
Nice. Let's see if BEG reached 1 million passengers in July.

DeleteAir Serbia is growing and setting new passenger records while at the same time, second largest airline in Belgrade has been significantly growing capacity this year. Indicates Air Serbia resilience and ability to grow in competitive Belgrade market.
ReplyDeleteIt shows what healthy competition does and why the market always profits. That is why we should hope Wizz Air base is here to stay.
DeleteFor example, look at Austria, LCCs reduced their presence there and this June they were the second highest air fare rise in June, just behind Belgium. May and April was the same.
True, but airfares also rise in part due to jet fuel cost increase.
DeleteIt can also be concluded those who said Air Serbia needs (Wizz to stop flying at BEG) to keep growing, are wrong.
That livery is simply horrible.

ReplyDeleteToday 163 takeoffs and 163 landings at BEG, which is new record by far in day's operations of commerical flights. Surely today is a new record for JU as well. It is still unclear how's W6 choking them, as per some commentator claim.

DeleteThey could easily do more. I flew last week and saw 3 A330-200s parked near the hangars. Only one was flying - to JFK.

DeleteBtw according to ch aviation, this June Air Sebia had the 6th highest daily utilisation of A330-200s in the world. But I guess they are lying.
