Flights between Sarajevo and Athens are expected to be restored from October, according to an announcement made during Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis’ recent visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s capital. Following talks with his Bosnian counterpart Elmedin Konaković, Mr Gerapetritis said regular nonstop services between the two cities would resume “from October 2026”. However, weeks after the announcement, no airline has publicly confirmed the service or put flights on sale. Aegean Airlines previously operated between Athens and Sarajevo during the 2024 summer season, maintaining two weekly flights from June until the end of September.

DeleteRelaunching Sarajevo during winter seems indeed rather strange. On the other hand, from the second half of 2026 it seems Aegean is finally getting some of their airbus 320/321neo fleet back after solving the engines issues -first half of 2026 was supposed to be the worst time with up to 14 planes grounded- so they may be able to start some routes.
