I wonder if this major LJU growth is impacting ZAG? We all know many Slovenes used to fly from ZAG when there weren't as many flight before.

I think this is starting to happen yeah. I fly around 4-6 times each year and in previous years, I used foreign airports 95 % of the time. This year I went on six travels and all of those were from LJU. Similar is happening to my friends who travel.

I only use Zagreb for LH flights, because I find that ZAG-AMS-USA flights are about 200€ cheaper compared to LJU-AMS-USA flgiths, with a note that ZAG-AMS is usually done on OU and not on KLM

Meanwhile those load factors are not stellar for a LCC, you should note that easyJet is prioritizing higher spending customers here. Especially during the summer, tickets were often selling for > 250 euro one way. This means the airline is probably still making good profit with the routes, even if loads aren't too high.

@12:32 KLM flights from LJU are so expensive because the flights are always full. This is the LF:

      Jan 26: 74.3%
      Feb 26: 90.7%
      Mar 26: 93.6%
      Apr 26: 91.3%
      May 26: 94.5%
      Jun 26: 92.8%
      Jul 26: 88.0%

Wouldn't be surprised if there is some additional increases in the summer next year.

One off flight is aimed at people from the Netherlands coming to watch the football game, so this is completely separate from them actually planning a scheduled service. It does show that they are at least open to serving LJU from AMS tho.

However, I have noticed that their strategy is to open one new route at the start of each new season. First was MAN for the winter 2025/26, then EDI, now LTN and for summer 2027 is Berlin. Maybe we could see another year-round route being launched in the winter 2027/28.

1.8 mil is pretty much granted, it is also possible that LJU will achieve new all time record this year (1,812,411 in 2018).

In 2025 LJU had 150k pax in Oct, 105k pax in Nov and 101k pax in Dec. If we presume stagnation of pax numbers in the last three months of 2026, that amounts to 1,782 mio pax. However, a growth between 10 and 15 % is pretty much granted with all the increases, which means the final total could be somewhere between 1,817 mio and 1,835 mio pax in 2026. It is gonna be very close to the new record guys! Who would have thought.

Agree. What's really needed is SAS on CPH with good departing times, so you can easily connect to most of scandinavia and vice versa. Norwegian is good, but some of their departures back to LJU are not aimed at connections, with early morning flight, meaning if you wanna go to LJU from OSL, ARN, ... you have to fly in to CPH in the evening for the morning flight to LJU.

You can see the switch in the recent years especially in Ljubljana and Postojna, both leaning towards 5 star hotels, Ljubljana is getting 2 in the next 2 years, while they opened two in the past 5, and Postojna is renovating their 3 star hotel to be upgraded too. It's a switch that Bled will have to wait for a bit more, at least until Grand Hotel Toplice is renovated

Slovenia was never a mass tourism destination. It was always pointed towards botique tourism.

Not forget other parts of Slovenia, for instance Štajerska and Prekmurje, who have great potential for all year tourism (baths) also.

Štajerska and Prekmurje? Really? Apart from baths, which are already doing well, what would you market their to first time visitors? That would surpass the views from Bled, Kranjska Gora or Bovec?

Also to 10:51 - you DON’T have 10s of Bleds in Bavaria. If you think so, you’ve never been to Bled. Or to Bavaria’s ‘Bleds’.

And Bled isn’t turning into ‘overtourism’ hell - it’s empty most of the year!

September having almost as many pax as July is very interesting. This really shows that the summer touristic season is starting to extend into September. This September, there was >10 % growth of tourists arrivals in Slovenia compared to the same month in the previous year.

It also shows how much stronger summer numbers can be. There is still a lot of work to be done.

18:56 Can you share (economical) results of other exyu airports? Total revenue and profitability would be enough.
