Flydubai celebrated the fifth anniversary of its service between its Dubai hub and Ljubljana this week. Since launching the route in September 2021, the airline has carried just over 232.000 passengers between the two cities through the end of July this year. Flights were briefly suspended during part of March and throughout April due to the conflict in the Middle East but have since resumed.
Commenting on the occasion, the Managing Director of airport operator Fraport Slovenija, Juergen Deischl, said, “Before the current crisis in the Middle East, the service was performing strongly. The fundamentals remain, and so does our confidence in its future. We are particularly grateful that Flydubai continues to stand by Ljubljana and the Slovenian market despite challenging circumstances. That is what real partnership looks like. We hope the situation in the Middle East will stabilise soon and that Slovenia’s travel guidance can evolve accordingly, reflecting the proportionate approach of neighbouring European countries”.
This coming winter season, Flydubai will maintain between three and five weekly rotations between Ljubljana and Dubai, with daily flights planned around the Christmas and New Year holiday period.
