During September, Macedonia’s second international airport, Ohrid, processed 33.570 passengers, up 28.9%. Over the first three quarters, traveller numbers at the airport stood at 265.993, an improvement of 26.8%.

Congratulations on the excellent results.
ReplyDeleteChapeau !
ReplyDeleteNice
ReplyDeleteChapeau to SPU, but I am astonished how little OU contributes to this
ReplyDeleteRead Split but it is SKP... sorry for that
DeleteThe observation is the same for both.
Delete:))
DeleteI'll be curious for the results once 2027 will start, and in which way the airport will go, steady climb or small decrease, Wizz already pulled out the 7th plane, if they were planning new routes it would it stay here, plus I can see Bologna will not operate during the winter
ReplyDeleteWizz always increases SKP in a two years cycle, nothing new. and BLQ is paused after Xmas and not for the entire winter
Delete'Always' is vague and not a guarantee. But they do have lots of slack in the current base to expand wothout new aircraft if they reduce W pattern flights that SKP based aircraft do for elsewhere.
Delete2027 is predicted to keep the current performance it is still early because the airport is expected to have new expansion with new routes the months that coming , but there is no decline for sure which is amazing
Deleteнебулоза
Delete@16:31 predicted by whom? can you provide analysis of this statement.
DeletePredicted by all relevant sources that could be find online. From expected new routes , to W6 new expansion and increasing and adding new routes. I said above it is still early to talk about this most likely after new year we will have more info about it
DeleteGreat! Although you have provided no concrete information at all.
DeleteWho are all these relevant online sources that predict the same growth???
DeleteIf you exclude airlines from Turkey and Wizz, remaining airlines have miniscule marketshare and impact on SKP connectivity.
ReplyDeleteYeah its definatly wizzair-land. But thats fine, serves the market well.
Deletethought its much higher then the 63,8%
DeleteEvery market has a dominant airline is it Ryanair,Easyjet,Wizz air or something else there is nothing wrong with that. Yes Skopje do need more connections and options thats a fact and hopefully we will see more new routes in future coming. And yes Turkish routes are in demand and very succesfull out of SKP
Delete@14:51 There are several airports in Europe of a similar size that spring to mind with similar % of dominance by a single LCC. Cork in Ireland is a bit smaller that Skopje in overall passenger numbers (lower, but not much, with Ryanair holding over 65% of all the traffic. Bigger players such as Bergamo and Brussels South are essentially single Airline dependent, not to mention Stansted. What is interesting, and good about Skopje is that Wizzair operate to a very broad range of routes that would never be financially viable with a national airline based out of the airport. All in all an interesting case study of an airport.
Deletethey will scratch the 3.9m at the end of the year
ReplyDeleteMost likely realistic numbers and surpass 4 next year which is also great
DeleteNope, they will reach 4 million this year.
DeleteIf handling 350k each of this three months yes , but lets see , I mean I cheer for that to happend this year as well
Deletezero chance we will have decline in Nov and possibly also Dec
DeleteThere is no decline in all three months that coming as well after New Year
DeleteNobody predicts decline in passengers at all. Just a dramatic slowing of growth to single percentage points, which is great as well.
DeleteExactly very nice explained buddy
DeleteNov will have a decline in capacity, already confirmed by this blog
DeleteVery small percentage in Nov
DeleteOhrid is set to surpase their 2019 record, was about time.
ReplyDeleteNot sure where you got that from. Numbers are down on 2019.
Deletecalculate 2025 numbers and the gain from 2026 Jan-Sep and there you go if you can
Delete2019 OHR had 317,218 and 2025 263.869 so if October is 30k and the rest two months 20k will surpass its 2019 numbers
Delete@16.37 good that you will never be a math teacher
DeleteJan-Sept it gained some 55k, add that to the 2005 numbers. Now all it has to do is to stay in the positive (or 0%) for the next 3months
2025* 😊
DeleteWhich is unlikely to happen because it had fewer passengers than in 2019 in May, June, August and September.
Delete17:08 sorry proffesor I said the numbers that are potential but it is wintet not summer so I hardly believe that those numbers will stood in winter as well
Delete@17.30 and bizzarely you left out Jan-April where they outperformed 2019 by a big margin, also your statement re July ia totally wrong
Delete^ i didn't mention july so you are seeing things. I left out January-May because there was growth. Read the comment above mine to which I was responding. The trend in the past few months is under 2019 levels and this will continue until the end of the year.
DeleteAgain: they have plus 55k this year (jan-sept) already compared to 2025. If they will have at least the same results Oct-Dec as last year they will break their 2019 results
Deletetalking about Ohrid our morbidly deranged minister today said this: "Оваа година Охрид ќе помине 350.000–400.000 патници, со многу голема шанса да го замине Нишкиот аеродром" no comments
DeleteCongrats SKP on this record numbers great job
ReplyDeleteWho would ever imagine that OHD couple years ago couldnt handle 30k in a couple of months during the year, now they hit this numbers in just a single month great improvement. Also SKP congrats keep the great work✈️🍀
ReplyDeleteBravo SKP 👏
ReplyDeleteGreat for SKP.
ReplyDeleteIf they want to spend some money & fix the "landing in fog" problem tye numbers in winter will go up.
However it no great for pax, SKP is running over max capacity, going in & out is bad. TAV & govermant sbould consider increasing the sise of the terminal as the passengers numbers are going up
They will start implementing solutions for the winter fog issue, the space where the airport is in winter is very very heavily covered with fog its about the position of the airport. Second TAV prepares master plan for new concession in the next 30 years so we wait for it to be publicly shared and see what they are planing to invest. There is plan for terminal expansion as well , but nothing is specified with numbers yet. I agree the airport grows and need more space
DeleteSadly the continued reliance on firewood, and coal for heating makes the fog issue even worse every winter which was of course less of an issue in the 1970s/80s and even when the city was smaller and far fewer cars. This has been very slow to change.
DeleteThe airport remains quite pleasant to use I find, and I'm sure any expansion to the terminal will compliment it quite well.
Well Done!!! Keep up the great work! 👍🏼
ReplyDeleteMore people migrating will equal more flights indeed.
DeleteDo you really think, that this is impressive? For the airport: YES! But this also means, that many people have left North Macedonia. So many routs are fast routs....
ReplyDelete*gasto routs
DeleteSame for most parts of exyu. If there hadn't been massive migration there wouldnt be demand for flights in the same quantity. Skopje airport never been more used, but the country never been less full.
Deletesame for Poland, Romania, Bulgaria ...
DeleteIndeed. Same for Portugal and Spain, Greece and Italy and Ireland etc. That is how population movements ultimately influence mobilities.
DeleteGreat traffic figures for Skopje Airport! Does anyone know if the Skopje/Palermo route will be confirmed for summer 2027 ? Hopefully, it will operate for a longer period this time, rather than just from mid-July to mid-September as it did this year. It would be great to see an extended summer schedule
ReplyDeleteAs someone observed, this was launched late this year (Feb), so its not impossible that they do the same for next year. However i would suspect it isn't coming back, but time will tell.
