NEWS FLASH
Spanish low cost carrier Vueling is increasing frequencies on its Barcelona - Ljubljana service next summer season. The airline will up operations from two to three weekly starting March 28, with flights to be maintained on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Most of the additional services outside of the peak travel period from mid-June until mid-September will be operated by the Airbus A319 aircraft, while the rest with the A320. Vueling will also run a limited three weekly rotation for the Christmas and New Year holiday period from December 7, 2026 until January 10, 2027. During the January - August period of this year, 26.014 passengers were handled on the route, according to Spanish airport operator AENA.

Great. On the other side, Iberia seems to have reduced the service, starting mis July instead of beginning of june.

DeleteIB 😥
DeleteLet's wait and see Iberia services are always full from Ljubljana
DeleteWell in June (the first month of Iberia ops) the joint LF (Iberia and Vueling, both two weekly flights) was 83 %. In May, Vueling had a lf of 93 % and if we presume it was similar in June as well, this means that the Iberia's LF was somewhere between 70 - 75 %. This is not the best, but I still think that the route could be developed nicely in the future with additional frequencies and more months served. I don't know why they are so conservative.
DeleteIberia numbers: Jun: 2087, Jul: 1997, Aug: 2403
Deletelot of their summer seasonal are now shortened (ZAG route also starts around that time)
Delete@12.16 is this public data? Where is it available?
DeleteThis means sub 70 % LF for June and July, not the best. Aug LF is at 71 %
Spanish airport operator AENA
Delete@Anonymous 12.27, Not true at all. Zagreb is beginning with the start of summer timetable end March with two weekly flights and increases to up to nine flights in peak month of August. Not to mention majority of peak season flights operated by A321
Deletetheir website is so messy
Deletewhat is LF ?
ReplyDeleteOver 90%.
DeleteThat's crazy.
DeleteExcellent, especially since u reach other Spain destinations as well through BCN.
ReplyDeleteWe just did MAD VLM SLL and Ribera del Duero region for 2 weeks. Still affordable prices, especially outside MAD.
VLL SLM
DeleteThe AENA's numbers are sadly not exact, since all arrivals to BCN from LJU are counted, including charters, which there was quite some of during the summer. The total capacity Vueling offered between the two cities from Jan to Aug is around 26,7k. I would say that the actual pax numbers are around 24,5k.
ReplyDeleteIt was interesting to see that Trade Air regularly operated BCN flights on top of Vueling.
DeleteYeah, this shows that there is demand for more, I wouldn't be surprised if they go 4x weekly in 2028. I would say there is enough demand for 5x weekly service in the top months.
DeleteEspecially since Slovenia is really making progress on hotel openings and renovations. Also Emonika will enhance LJU further.
DeleteI just saw the presentation of the Grand Hotel Toplice in Bled which is closed for renovation until 01SEP2027
It will look good and give Bled some glamour back of the past. It def wont be cheap but there is enough potential in the market paying such prices.
Bravo Fraport!
ReplyDeleteinterestinly these flights didnt have any impact on the TRS-BCN number, it soared to 53k for the same period
ReplyDeletebetter option is venice ... cheaper and more frequent
Deletemaybe Slovenes dont use that much TRS as we are told here :) (im not from SLO to know)
Delete200k in 2024 offical airport stat ;)
DeleteDon’t use TRS much? Haha that’s a good one. I suggest you go there and you’ll see for yourself.
Deleteseems new LJU routes have no impact on Trieste airport
DeletePegasus will unfortunately stay 3x weekly in ss27, but its good they will at least stay. I dont think their numbers are very good.
ReplyDeleteThey reduced Zagreb to 3x weekly, and kept Ljubljana at 3x weekly...tells you all
DeleteLjubljana-Istanbul numbers are 20% up compared to last year.
DeletePegasus didn’t have the greatest start, but in July their LF was 85%+
DeleteHow do you know their SS27 schedule? The flights haven’t been put on sale for me yet.
DeleteI checked it out on their mobile app and they are showing

DeleteZagreb has 3 weekly Pegasus (on Vueling topic), the same as Ljubljana. Has same or even more Turkish than Ljubljana. Has same or more flydubai. Has Qatar which Ljubljana does not have. Has T'way which Ljubljana does not have. Has Air China which Ljubljana does not have. Speaking just direction East. Does this tell you all as well, or some other criteria is applied in this case? What was the purpose of your comment? Aviation? I doubt.
PIR, he was just stating the fact that meanwhile ZAG had 4x weekly Pegasus flights this summer, it was reduced to 3x per week next summer, meaning that the route didn't perform as expected this year, maybe newly launched LJU also took away some of their ZAG pax. He never stated that LJU has more offer than ZAG, which makes your examples unecessary.
Delete18.02
DeleteIt is pointless to compare what Zag has to offer against Lju, Zag has three times more passengers, but Pegasus route to Ljubljana surely affected the one to Zagreb a bit. The same happened when Wizz started Skp and yes I know this was stated over a billion times on this page in the comments.
I think that Pegasus is actually succesfull in LJU, I will be flying with them for the second time this year out of LJU in 2026, and am planing also flying with them at least 2 tumes in Q1, 2 of 2027. Also the loads were not bad on either of flights I have taken, and they have even upgraded one weekly service to a321neo.
Delete17:03
DeleteYou are implying that the part of Pegasus passenger to SAW is rather using LJU than ZAG? What would be the reason for this in your opinion? Just asking because situation is not so clear to me, obviously.
18:30
It would be pointless if ZAG would have all routes what LJU has. We all know the reality is different. Sounds a bit offensive (first part of your first statement) to all who symphatize with LJU, don't you think?
No one is implying anything. But the fact that you got immediately triggered says everything.
Delete...tells you all
Delete...says everything
....triggered
These are the words and phrases proving aviation is not main reason of your posts, to which I reacted
Pegasus Airlines has a greater impact on the Turkish flight between LJU - IST than on Pegasus flights between Zagreb ZAG - SAW.
ReplyDeleteIs turkish decreasing frequency or capacity in LJU?
